Good point. I think I may change that on the main page. On some of the other pages, I tend to leave it without a date because some of my writing and articles have been copyright since 1997. Since I've always allowed free reprint rights on my printed materials (in exchange for a link) I like to make sure that the copyright is not "just" established from this year. But the design, being this year's design, could use a date added.

Funny.... I was wondering if anyone would ask about color. I've done some studying on how colors affect people - especially online. You might find this interesting. A lot of colors seem to generate different results online than they do offline.

For example, highlighting things in yellow is a common practice offline. Online - bad idea. The traditional shade of yellow, as displayed in the primary 16 color palette - causes retina damage if looked at too long. Of course, people don't realize that consiously. They just don't look at it too long. So, websites using a large amount of yellow have tend to result in shorter visits.
People solve the problem by "leaving" faster.

Green is another touchy color. When people view a website with a lot of green, they will make one of two assumptions. Either a) it will help them make money. Or... b) It's a money grab. The layout and text will make the difference, as well as the shade of green used. I've used green on one client's website with FANTASTIC results., and
her sales are terrific.

One of the things I do with my clients is look at the the opinion they want their customers to form of them, and then use color to help achieve that objective. For each person, the color of success will vary. For the client that I used green for, purple would have killed her sales. For me, the right color choice was a soft purple. : )
