Hi Phil,

Wow... Surfing through your links, I came across this article. 150 years for Madoff is, of course, effectively a life sentence...

However, I found out (thanks to your links) that there have been longer sentences...

http://www.forbes.com/2009/06/24/ber...ay-madoff.html

Bernie Madoff's 150-year sentence was only the fourth-longest sentence for a "white collar" (i.e. non-violent) crime in US history...

The top 3 sentences for non-violent crimes are...

1. Shalom Weiss - 845 years. His date of release is the year 2754!

2. Keith Pound - 740 years (sentenced for the same crime as Shalom Weiss, so see the above link)

3. Norman Schmidt - 330 years

Thanks Phil... Interesting stuff...! And of course, a warning not to run a Ponzi scheme, etc. etc. etc.!

I don't know what he was thinking. Maybe "greed" is not always "good" - despite what Gordon Gekko (from the movie "Wall Street") says!

Best wishes,

Dien
