Why I love the Pyramid of Accomplishment....

When you fall sick and you go to your doctor, your doctor can't know how to help you until he or she finds out what the illness is.

Your doctor must first make a diagnosis.

Only once your doctor knows what the illness is, does your doctor know how to help you.

I've found that the POA helps you to diagnose the reason why you may not have accomplished something. Which EXIT have you come to?

Once you know which EXIT you are at, you also get a good idea of how to solve the problem. That's the power of the POA.

When you fail to achieve something, it's often because you got off at one of the POA EXITS.

Some people think, "If only I had more money to throw at my idea, I could succeed."

But they don't realize that usually, if a little bit of money can't make them more money, then probably a LOT of money won't make them more money either.

If they have a little bit of money and they lose it, then it's likely that if they have a LOT of money that they'll lose that too.

Some opportunities do require a lot of money, and some require a little. But I feel if you can't make money with a little, there's no guarantee you'll be able to make money with a LOT.

Many of the world's richest people only started out with a little.

Ross Perot used to go to markets when he was a kid and trade horse-saddles for a profit. He used some of those selling skills to build EDS to a very successful company, which he then sold in the 1980s for a multi-billion dollar profit.

Kirk Kerkorian started out by buying used cars and fixing them up, and reselling them at a profit. Many decades later he's still doing the same sort of thing, but now by buying and fixing up whole companies like MGM and Chrysler, and then selling them again at a profit.

Richard Branson got his start by forming a student newspaper -- which struggled to pay its bills. Now, he owns Virgin Airlines (in it's many regional forms) and also around 200 other businesses. His range of businesses is so vast, both in the types of business and their location, that nowadays it is true that "the sun never sets on the Virgin empire."

The REAL stories out there are incredible to read -- they really open your eyes. MOST of these people did NOT start out with a lot of money, but used a lot of sweat and persistence instead.

The solution to your problem may not be MORE MONEY, but your problem is more likely to be that you are getting off at one of the EXITS of the POA.

I think that by sharing the POA with us, Gordon has probably saved SOME of us several years on the path to financial success. NOT all of us -- because not all of us will use it, and many will forget about it. But SOME of us -- those of us who actually USE the POA.

It's a powerful tool!
