| Another TV ad flaw... Saw an ad for Scott Trade (stock trading firm) -- they ahve a new spokesperson -- a bufoon selfish stock broker whose clients are leaving him to go to Scott Trade -- this spot shows him having a meeting with his co-workers to try to figure out what scott trade has that his biz doesn't have. He's asking for suggestions from the co-workers + writing them on a big pad on an easel. Interesting plot for the spot -- but here's the problem (unless I worry too much) -- when he's writing the suggestions down on the pad, he is first putting an *asterisk* before each feature/benefit -- problem is, an asterisk is the LOGO of another competitor!! E-Trade. Maybe there's some of consultancy I can start where advertising agencies run this stuff past me first, so I can show them where there might be problems (??) -- TW |
