I'm curious as to why you referenced ME in this article about GroupOn.

Actually....since our Gummit is taking our country down, economically and otherwise....MANY consumers will be looking for DEALS!

Why not help to Give Them WHAT they WANT!

Set up a Local Discount Coupon site....where they can go to get Special Discounts.

Set it up as a Freebie for the merchants to offer their Special Deals. Charge consumers a Fee...good for 30 days. They can then renew, next month, to get the Next Month's Special Deals.

This way...you have local consumers RENEWING....every month.

Put up 10 Coupon Offers a month....again....FREE to the businesses...so...the deal won't cost them anything UNTIL someone uses their Coupon...so...they should be willing to offer GREAT DEALS! (None of the "10% off" stuff)

I referenced you because the groupon idea seems like an idea you would come up with -- and the guy gets offered 6-BILLION, after only doing it for 2-3 years.

It's discouraging + inspiring at the same time!

You're right TW....one of the "projects" I'll be doing in 2011 is the "Local Coupon" thing. I have a domain that fits in perfecto for this (DouglasCountyDiscounts.com) and will be setting up the site and getting clients....using the GroupOn method of
....FREE to merchants (only costs them WHEN someone brings in the Coupon...which is why merchants will offer GREAT OFFERS to get Bodies to Buy)
....Consumers BUY coupons ONLY when there's enough buyers (which is incentive to get buyers to tell their friends)....however....I think I'll limit ALL my coupons to TEN minimum.

Will see what happens. Ya never know unless ya tries!

"Scared" of what our present "Gummit" is trying to do to them!

Therefore....I....as a "SELF-Employed" person (aka - NOT relying upon "da Gummit" or ANYONE ELSE...for his INcome)....am conjuring up programs to HELP....the businesses and professionals .....who have chosen to "FIGHT to keep their projects going under the Onslaught of the present "Gummit"...

and...one way of doing this is to use a type of "GroupOn" program that WILL...BRING CASH-CUSTOMERS.....INTO....their bis!

So....halleluh...for "people like me".....who can STILL....come up with Programs to HELP local businesses....while...providing a GOOD living for ME!

Anyways....just this moring....Dec 30 or the year 2011....I found SIX .....I repeat...SIX....business and professional OWNERS....who WANT.....INTO my program that will....ENTICE...local consumers to BUY!

Thank you Groupon (just turned down 6 BILLION) for allowing people like ME to "See the Appeal" or your concept and adapt it to our LOcal Level.

Would you mind providing more details on this idea? I thought about it years ago, even before GroupOn has started, but could not find a clear way for it to work. And, since I am not a marketing guy, I just left it where it was and forgot all about it.
