Sorry for the confusing remarks, hope this clears things up for everyone.

I'm not sure why (exactly) it was canned -- but it COULD have to do with the never-ending-build-up syndrome.

Ie: Disaster is coming soon -- oh yes -- soon -- yup, it's getting closer -- it's almost here -- just a little while longer... then you're all gonna see!... Just around the corner... [etc.]

This paranoid build-up has to actually LEAD to some conclusion. Otherwise people can't stand their nerves to be jangled on a never-ending basis.

If it doesn't actually LEAD to something concrete, people just bail. They have no emotional choice -- if they are to retain their sanity.
