Default What you can learn from a love letter....

Here's a love letter to look at.... I took it from a well-known book, which you may have heard of.... Then, I'll explain why I've included it here, and what we can learn from it!

Here it is....

Dear Betty,
I love you very much.

I want to take care of you and our kids for the rest of your lives. There'll be good times and bad. But I'll try to do my best with what I've got.

From time to time, I'll probably exasperate or annoy you. But I promise that you'll never be bored.

I read somewhere that the contract for marriage is the only one that doesn't have a definite term - a point at which it ends or can be renewed. It just says "... 'til Death do us part." Well, I want you to know that, in our case, I'm satisfied with that arrangement. But, to be perfectly honest, I sometimes wish that we weren't married - so we'd both know, every day, that we were sharing our lives because we wanted to - not because we had to.

All my love,

Joe

This is from Joe Karbo's "The Lazy Man's Way to Riches." It's a love letter he wrote to his wife.... Joe puts this in the middle of a discussion about writing an effective ad....

Then he says....

You're saying, "That's no ad. That's a love letter!" Well, every ad should be a love letter, a personal communication.

What he says is true! A personal communication generally gets better results than something stilted and impersonal. Everyone like the personal touch! They like to know that you know they exist as a person....

Today is Valentine's Day.... But writing love letters isn't something you have to restrict just to this day. In fact, the more love letters you write, the better.... :)
