The fact is, there's a lot of potential value in "garbage." Whether it's discarded gold dust, lost golf balls, or putting it to other uses! I know a guy who once made a couple hundred bucks or so, from some things others had discarded. He found some lenses for film projectors, which had been thrown away in a dumpster. He retrieved them, and sold them for a few hundred bucks. Probably the person who threw them away had no idea of their value...! A lot of people "throw away" much more valuable things - or else they "keep" them, but don't use them, and are willing to sell them to you for peanuts. You can then use these things yourself, or resell them for a nice profit... There are a lot of opportunities here. Best wishes, Dien P.S. By the way (blatant plug coming up) - some great ideas on how to profit in this way - and even make a living at it - are contained in Gordon Alexander's "The Chattel Report" - http://www.thechattelreport.com ...! |

Thanks for mentioning "upcycling"! I've read about (and also written about) various "upcycling" ideas before - but I wasn't aware of the term until you mentioned it! In general, "upcycling" means creating a new product out of one or more discarded products... This can be done commercially - to make extra cash. Create it, then sell it. Your "raw materials" can be very cheap, or even free! You can find people selling these kinds of items on eBay, Etsy.com, or sometimes via their own online stores... For example, here's an online store which sells purses made from recycled rubber tyres... You'll notice the prices have a wide range, from about $35 to $150+ ... They also make belts and wallets. http://www.englishretreads.com There are many other examples of similar online stores, creating various products out of many other "discarded" materials. These kinds of items are often considered "cool" and "hip"... Thanks again, Phil, for that excellent info! Best wishes, Dien |
