Dylan's voice accidentally helped stack the deck in his favor. Here's what I mean: Parents who heard their kids playing Dylan tended to yell "What is that noise you're playing??!!!! Turn it off!!!" In the kids' minds, anything their parents hated had to be good.... The more angles you can think of, the more you can stack the deck in your favor. Best, -Boyd |

I also suspect it may have helped him in other ways too.... Because his songwriting seems so good, and his singing seems so bad, it would encourage so many others to release cover versions of his songs. (Heck, it doesn't take much to make it more melodic than the original!). And surely, having so many others also singing his songs only adds to his fame and fortune.... :) - Dien |
