One of my old favorites were the BluBlocker infomercials...

Thanks for sharing that... Some very interesting links! I remember Don Lapre's original ad... About how you could make money with "tiny classified ads"... Certainly sounded intriguing! I think where he went wrong was he was basically upselling - through a very "hard sell" - to his infomercial customers expensive commercial "900 phone lines" (i.e. where people would call and get a message, and you'd charge them a fee for it), which his customers didn't want or need... Of course, there are good infomercials and infomercial products. Here's "Good Housekeeping's" list of some good infomercial products... http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/prod...oducts-reviews "Back in the day" I was a fan of those old "BluBlocker" infomercials - by Joe Sugarman (also famous for the "JS&A" catalog)... Here's one of those old BluBlocker infomercials... Quite different from the "gee whizzy" infomercials of today! 1980s Paid Advertisement -- Consumer Challenge (Blublocker Sunglasses) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugqryy_MA-U Best wishes, Dien |
