Thanks for posting the ad... Quite creative! I'm just sorry I can't bid... because I'd love the free MC Hammer pants! (I've always wondered where to get some of those...) ![]() I don't have any vehicle ads for you - but I have found some funny Craigslist ads... I didn't know (till I went searching) that Craigslist actually keeps a list, which is here... http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/all/ Here are a couple of ads I liked! Name my fish I found this site, too... http://funnycraigslistads.com Best wishes, ![]() Dien Last edited by Dien Rice : November 21, 2012 at 03:32 AM. Reason: formatting |

You might like this one - which is originally from Craigslist... 96 Toyota Corolla – $1700 Excerpt: "This car has seen all of it, man. Roughly 254,000 miles worth of it and didn’t blink an eye. This car stared death in the face every time I slid the key down my arm, guided it into the ignition with my finger, closed one eye, and took off down the road — and it made it through every time. It survived because it’s a fighter and it handles like a dream. The super-geniuses who post over at Edmunds.com give this car 4.5 out of 5 stars, and those guys know what they’re talking about because they post about it on the internet."http://funnycraigslistads.com/2012/0...oyota-corolla/ Best wishes! ![]() Thanks Dien,
I appreciate the other links. I had NOT seen those before. Creativity is everywhere. I'm still trying to figure out the point of the Superhero. Are they just lonely and wants to play "make believe"? Hmm I actually do have a vehicle of a friend of mine I could write an ad for... (Actually now that I reflect, there was a post here a couple of years back, when I was selling my car. I think someone posts an example of an ad. Something about selling "4 wheels for sale" or something) Either way, thought somebody here would have an example of a successful or crazy classified ad for these types of things. As Phil would say, gotta Twist, those funny ads into my own. It's going to be fun. Thanks again Dien Quote:

![]() Thanks Dien,
This Car ad. IS very Interesting. I got a couple of ideas actually from it. It looks like it was written by an "amateur" copywriter. I still wonder how effective this type of ad is, i.e did it SELL? Regardless, thank you! for the resources. I will be putting it into action Shortly. (Tick, tick tick....egg timer says my posting time is up ![]() Cheers Dien Quote:

![]() Thanks Duane,
I've actually sold cars that DO NOT RUN with this Ad Template Strategy. Kick ME - I'm Down My Car Won't Start... Must Sell. Get a new car or lose my Job. WHY DOES IT WORK? a - DON'T USE THIS IDEA Unless You can "Act" - Just a bit. People show up to look at the car Convinced You are Desperate and they can Take Advantage of you. Then you play all the bidders against each other. Run up the final price ABOVE BOOK VALUE. b - DON'T USE "Kick-Me" Psychology unless You Can Tell The TRUTH. SHOCKING. But most people think advertisers LIE! Kick Me - I'm Down I'm Moving to India in 2 days (I helped a ezine reader sell a car on Craigs list in 2 days with the above Reason why) c - DON'T TRY THIS At Home Unless You Have the Guts to RISK Embarrassment. Kick Me - I'm Down Just Married. Must Sell His - Keeping Hers. (A client sent me a news clipping about this. Why is a 2 inch Classified Ad News? 300,000 People Showed Up at this yard sale! Where the poor SOB was selling his furniture, his car.) Obviously the woman is dominant in this relationship. Thousands of women showed up. (Courtney Cox did this to her husband David Arquette. I saw him Mourning the loss of all his furniture - to Jay Leno. Especially his favorite Ugly Orange chair she forced him to move into the garage.) I use a VERSION of this KICK ME I'M DOWN Tactic - in the letter I send out to Credential Myself for Consulting Jobs. (Link is below - see if you can SPOT IT in the copy.) So. IF you Understand the REASON WHY Psychology - it's very profitable in ANY PRINT AD On-Line Email Forum or Blog Post Article NLP Sales Letter. Postcard Snail mail offer Happy Holidays, Glenn Osborn P.S. - WARNING - Daring People to KICK YOU takes some GUTS. And you may not get much sleep cuz the phone rings off the hook. But if you do it right. You can s ell almost ANYTHING - by beating all the other Advertisers to the limited pool of buyers. http://archive.enchantednlp.com/readthis.php |

Giving a "reason why" is a proven way to be more persuasive... In his book "Influence," Robert Cialdini reports on an experiment done in the late 70s... The social psychology researchers had people ask to cut into line to use the photocopier at a university. The first gave a reasonable reason why. The person asked... "Excuse me. I have 5 pages. May I use the Xerox machine because I'm in a rush?" - 94% of people agreed to let the person cut in line. The second test was to give no reason why... "Excuse me. I have 5 pages. May I use the Xerox machine?" - In this case, only 60% of people agreed to let the person cut in line. Much fewer let the person cut into line when no "reason why" was given! The third test was to give a meaningless reason why... "Excuse me. I have 5 pages. May I use the Xerox machine because I have to make some copies?" - 93% of people agreed to let the person cut in line - almost as much as those who agreed with the "reasonable" reason why! (In this case, saying "because I have to make some copies" is essentially meaningless - because everyone waiting in line "has to make some copies"!) Clearly, giving a "reason why" could be more important than what that actual reason is... Anyway, fascinating research... ![]() Best wishes, Dien |

![]() Hi Glenn,
Happy Holidays and THANKS for the templates AND detailed examples. My friends car was sold before I could use this template, however I will archive it as a GREAT example of a classified ad. And YES. I agree about using REASON WHY in your copy. I too have used it in auctions and other classified ads. I also like to use the Reason Why + DEADLINES to create URGENCY in my ads, especially when I want to move an item VERY quickly. Your "moving to India" ad is a good example of this. I recall I sold a laptop last year and got a response in under 2 hours. It happened so fast that I was formatting the darn thing to remove my info while I was enroute to the meet up location ![]() I will have to test out this KICK ME - I'M DOWN format once I get an item to sell. I appreciate you sharing this Glenn. Duane Quote:

![]() Thanks Duane,
The "Kick Me I'm Down" strategy is based on something we can CONTROL and PREDICT - Human Nature. In this case - GREED. Prospects Call you because the REASON WHY convinces them you are in a BAD SPOT. And they can TAKE ADVANTAGE of your situation to Pay Less. It helps if you know the NLP Psychology that makes the words Productive. Glenn |
