Default Nice work if you can get it!

can earn thousands of dollars for just typing (or, more likely, getting
an assistant to type) 140 characters.

The Kim Kardashians, Snoop Doggs and Charlie Sheens of the world
have made themselves thousands of dollars by simply typing out a tweet
or two. They have all tweeted sponsored tweets, or ads, to their hundreds
of thousands of followers.

How about $50,000 from one tweet?

If you remember back to the March madness that was Charlie Sheen taking the Twitter-verse by the (tiger) tail, you might also remember that he tweeted what was likely the most expensive sponsored tweet to date: a call for a “Tiger Blood” intern, who would apply through Internship.com. This $50,000 tweet generated nearly 100,000 clicks to Internship.com in the first hour, and over 80,000 applications for the position.

Oh, If only I was a star.

Hi Skip,

It sure would be nice work if you can get it!

I have a guilty secret...

I've been watching this show called "Start Ups: Silicon Valley." It's a show on "Bravo" (in Australia, it's on "Arena")... It's actually produced by Mark Zuckerberg's sister, Randi Zuckerberg...

Anyway, I say it is a guilty secret, because the show is actually about 90% soap opera, and only 10% business (think "Real Housewives" but with young twenty-something internet entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley)...

Getting to the point...

One of the people on the show is Sarah Austin, who is mostly involved in online media (has her own website, blog, makes videos, etc.).

At the start of the series, she was living for free at the "Four Seasons" hotel. She "bartered" that in return for doing social media marketing for them...

Here's what one article had to say...
"...Austin has been cast as the show’s villainess. In the opening episode, she is living in the Four Seasons for free in exchange for running the hotel’s social media and building their brand. She claims to charge $10,000 per tweet, has an army of personal stylists, and orders room service for her dog."

From http://venturebeat.com/2012/11/05/bravo-silicon-valley/
Quite clever to barter a free room in return for her social marketing services!

Wow... but $10,000 per tweet?

If you can get that, you're definitely "winning!"

Best wishes,

Dien

P.S. In this case, it might, also, be "marketing hype"...
