On a not so "high-tech" note, involvement devices are great response boosters also. One of the best responses EVER to a Direct Mail campaign, used the involvement technique. On the envelope, it said, Do Not Bend...Photo Enclosed. Inside the envelope was a "real" photo of this individual that was perfect for this particular campaign. I mean, who could throw that letter in the trash. Nobody does, because you can tell there truly is a photo in the envelope. it's obvious by the way it looks and feels. The photo could be of anything or anyone to enhance your credibility, believability, etc. But most important...it gets opened.
