For example, the painting numbers on curbs type of business (e.g. Address America), which we've discussed in the past, also follows this approach... - Solves a problem which is there NOW - hard to see house numbers, means people can't find your house in an emergency (e.g. an ambulance), it could mean the difference between saving the lives of you and your loved ones - or not. - You can solve the problem NOW (or close enough to now) - There's a time limit - you're only in the area for a limited time... - Don't "need to think about it" money - it's not too expensive, so it can be an immediate decision they don't need to think about too much... Here's another strategy we Adapted based on a Mega-Successful Landscaping idea in Manhattan. Randy gets hired by rich owners of Manhattan Property because he shows them PROOF his landscaping efforts INCREASE the value of their property. While doing work for ONE Client. He sends his men out to all the neighbors asking PERMISSION To - Carve a shrub into an animal. or Feed a Dying tree. Rescue a dead patch of lawn. YOU GET THE IDEA. So. I've now got several do-it-yourselfers getting Jobs LIKE THIS. I - They drive thru an affluent neighborhood II - When they see rain gutters that need cleaning. (Leaves and junk or small weeds growing on the roof) III - They knock and offer to Clean Your Gutters FOR FREE. a - Most people have a ladder - so you don't need ANYTHING to do this. b - Elderly people who cannot clean their gutters need People they can TRUST to do all sorts of chores. c - Women who are very busy or who have kids - need help too. SO. By Going the EXTRA MILE - You get lots of time to talk. You get an Opportunity to DEMONSTRATE you do Good Work. You get TIME to Turn a Stranger into a Friend and ASK, "What else do you need done?" This idea can be VERY PROFITABLE. One man in FL quit his aluminum siding job. Started using the "Clean Your Gutter FREE" Strategy to find Prospects - then SOLD The leads to roofing, window repair, aluminum siding and landscaping companies. Another VIP in Michigan - Took a Roofing/Aluminum siding Sales Job. Finds all his prospects this way. These are fantastic! I'm going to save these because these are truly "quick money ideas" you can use whenever you need it... I've thought in the past about how you can make money "quickly"... For example, selling stuff on eBay. However, even that still can take a week or so (if you run a week-long auction, for example, then there's sometimes a delay to get paid)... What Glenn is sharing is much faster... Why does it work? These ideas all help solve a problem the client has NOW, you offer to solve the problem NOW, and in general, the client doesn't have to think too hard about the price, it's a "no-brainer" with all those elements in place...
