Promoting with PostCards

I'd like to share something I've recently learned;

I am basically a "Belly-To-Belly" sales guy. I walk into a prospects biz, find the owner....show him/her what I'm doing and either get a yea or nay. Fortunately I've gotten an overabundance of "Yeas". However......I've recently discovered the awesome power of 2 things;

1) Rather than making personal sales calls, sending emails or phoning prospects.....I've found that full color Large Postcards;
Get Attention of my prospects better and more of them in less time at low cost.

And.....

2) If I add in QR Codes so prospects can go to a Sales Page....I find they DO....Scan in the Codes and View my Sales Pages.

Picture that you own a bizness and your website is not mobile optimized. If you receive a PostCard that says; "Scan this Code to see what your website looks like on a Mobile Phone!" and....."Scan this Code to see what your website SHOULD look like on a mobile phone!"

"Abject Curiosity" will cause the Codes to be scanned and.....you can contact MANY prospects in a short time AND......the BIG PLUS here is;

INTERESTED PROSPECTS PHONE YOU!

Sure beat knocking on doors....sending emails that are opened or......trying to reach prospects by phone!

The ONLY negative is.....designing the Cards and waiting a few days for the Cards to be delivered.

a solo mailing with the big card using EDDM from USPS will cost you about 7k for 20k.
U can target certain postal routes for less money and higher per piece cost tho.
Friend of mine just calls local biz, asks a few questions, and sells them on the phone ...doing a co op large postcard....I use video ...his closing ratio is better than mine cause he goes out to pick up the check ...

I tried the 5,000 to 10,000 "Mailing" thingee MANY yrs ago and got tired of trying to convince biz owners to pay for these mailings. Sure, one could make money AFTER all expenses of Printing & Mailing BUT.....I'd rather do programs where I can profit the Same with the cost being less than ONE HUNDRED SMACKERS!

Sorry.....my days of doing programs with HIGH....INITIAL COSTS....are OVER! My wifee asked me....after I had spent a couple Thou for printing and postage and Mailing Lists; "Hey! I thought you were trying to make money for YOU.....why are you making money for your suppliers"?

That's when I decided to give up on BIG Set-Up Costs!

Nowadays.....I can make MORE Profits per program with LITTLE UP FRONT EXPENSE.....by using "Digital and Video Stuff"!

One of my "Students" just finished another "Pizza Flyer" program where she got $290 from 12 Advertisers and her costs were less than $200.

One of my other "students" is "Ranking KeyWord Videos" for $290 initial and $97/mo and his cost is....50 bux per biz!

And....I'm halfway thru a "Mobile Site Town Directory" program where Restaurants get listed in a "Mobile Directory" for Tourists & Travelers staying at local hotels. I have a way to reach "Hotel Guests" renting rooms at local Hotels. Tourists & Travelers have 3 things:
1) They're HUNGRY (most travelers do NOT carry food with them!)
2) They have MONEY.....to buy Food
3) 99% of them have some sort of Mobile Device

I have a way of REACHING these Travelers for "peanuts", sending them to MY clients and.....collecting a Nice Monthly fee.

yeah on the big card...the guys doing it are taking along time to get that many advertisers and the first buyers are asking when is the card going out.
I like the idea of a 4x6 card ..ala Gordon...thinking it wouldnt take a day or 2 to get 4 advertisers for that ..

Im not familiar with the programs for the pizza flyers although I do love the videos ...and the mobile site directory sounds like a killer idea...once they find it ...and you seem to have a method for that ...

interesting ..I was reading about Near field communications the other day ..have a transmitter in the business that connects to the passing phone with a message ...still in development , I think , but it sounds like a great idea.

have a good one...off to the local deli for lunch ...and a sale ?

Fact 1) Every day.....people are registering for rooms in local hotels
Fact 2) The people renting rooms in these hotels have 3 things;
a) Hunger - most don't carry food with them
b) Money - they plan on buying food, usually in a restaurant
c) A Cell Phone -(Apple is selling 34,000 EVERY HOUR, 800,000/Day)

So....what if there was a way for these Hungry Travelers with Money and Cell Phones.....to EASILY find a Listing of Local Restaurants....on their Cells?

Here's 2 ways;
1) Place a Display on the Front Desk next to where travelers check in. This display says; "Looking for a Place To Eat? SCAN THIS CODE"! with pictures of plates of food and.....a QR CODE!

2) Place "TV Channel Guides in each room"! These have local TV Channels AND a QR CODE to scan

Now.....if a restaurant owner were shown either of these and also told that his restaurant would have an EXCLUSIVE for his type of Cuisine (Chinese, Mexican, BBQ, Thai....etc)....do you think he would find the money to pay your fee?......if these Displays were placed in at least TEN Local Hotels?

I actually like Don’s idea, however it is based on the fact that you are assuming most people are handy with those QR codes (at least at the start it did) the truth is that I, as a relatively young person, cannot always figure out QR codes and they were not standard on my Android phone. I think it’s a good idea, but leaves a little to be developed.
