![]() You kiddin' ME? There's ALL kinds of "Money-Making" stuff about "Makin' Money with Cell Phones"!
BUT......only a few of the "offerers" I've found have ACTUALLY MADE ANY MONEY from the programs or reports THEY.....are trying to sell to little ol' ME......! However.....what you are about to see.....is an ACTUAL example of HOW..... little ol' YOU....can make a BUNDLE with "Mobile" in 2015! So.....hold onto yer hat while I take you thru a "Funnel"! (And....understand, what you are about to see is TOTALLY FREE.....NO CHARGE!.....except your Time!) Here we go;........... Right now, TODAY.....Feb 16, 2015 (President's Day", MOST...of your local. Hotels/Motels, Restaurants, Gift Shops, Realtors, Local Attractions, Local Businesses are......THINKING ABOUT......HOW ARE THEY GONNA MAKE MONEY IN THE COMING MONTHS!!!! Well......in this year, 2015.....I would venture to say that OVER HALF the population HAS A MOBILE DEVICE! (Just stand in front of a local Dept Store and watch the people coming in. I did this morning and, because it's a Holiday.....over 90% of the youngsters entering our local Wal-Mart....were NOT....looking UP.....to see where they were going! Nope.....they were LOOKING DOWN at the thingee in their hands! Now... granted, the "TARGET MARKET" I'm looking for are NOT "teenagers"! Sooo....WHAT does this say to "a long-time entroopeneer" like me? It says......"Hey! Find out WHAT these people checking into local hotels/motels are looking at and.....GET IN FRONT of what they WANT!....and get local biznesses to PAY.....ME.....to get their biz In Front! So.....WHAT.....do you think the people checking into local hotels/motels are looking for? (Understand....most do NOT bring FOOD with them....They are HUNGRY from their trip and....THEY HAVE MONEY TO SPEND for FOOD!) Yup.....YOU got it!.....THEY'RE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO EAT! Well.....what if there was a Display on the Counter where they're going to "Rent a Room" that said; "LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO EAT! SCAN HERE for a Local Restaurant Directory!" The Display has a QRCODE (and url of the Local Mobile Directory) So.....what does all this mean to YOU? It means that YOU.....can make a NICE chuck of cash....every month.... contacting local eating places, gift shops, realtors and anyone else who'd like to contact Visitor's to your area.....JUST BY SHOWING THEM A MOBILE DIRECTORY OF LOCAL BIZNESSES! Right NOW.....Feb 2015.....I've found MOST biznesses, especially Restaurants.....do NOT have a way for people with "Mobile" devices to SEE THEM! WHY? Because they STILL don't believe they NEED to be seen on Mobile devices! HOWEVER.....in my small town there are 14 Hotels/Motels with 1,012 Rooms. So.....saying the Occupancy Rate is 35% in the winter and 50% summer.....this means....in winter there are about 300 people LOOKING FOR PLACES TO EAT.....EVERY DAY.....and about 500 people LOOKING FOR PLACES TO EAT......in our small town....EVERY DAY! So.....when I propose to "biznsses (Like Restaurants, Gift shops, Realtors)that PAY ME! ....that THEY can be the ONLY....."MEXICAN" Restaurant (or THAI...or Steak....or Seafood.....or Gift Shop or Realtor....in my Mobile Directory! WOW! Do my PROSPECTS GET INTERESTED" Thanks folks......my MAIN reason for putting "my stuff" on SowPub is to.... KEEP IT GOING! Don Alm PS.....the QR CODE is just a dummy. I have no idea where it goes. Also.....I forgot to mention that I place Displays in 10 local hotels/motels. The reason why these locations allow my Front Desk Displays is because this provides their Guests with "Extra Service and Convenience". I charge participating Restaurants, Gift Shops, Realtors etc.....$50/mo per location.....$500/mo for 10 locations. 20 participants = 20 x $500 = $10,000 Also.....when I started offering biznesses a Mobilzed version of their websites I got rejections HOWEVER......when I offer these same biznesses the "OPPORTUNITY" to be the ONLY one in their category.....they JUMP IN! |

The skeptic in me has some questions. Mainly one. If this is actually working, why does the directory you use as an example have only two listings? I am working on a similar idea in my area so seeing real working examples is great. In addition to the counter flyer we are making business cards with information on it for the front desk to hand out to the guests. Sure it drives up the cost a little bit but the engagement we believe will be higher. Also using the QR code exclusively limits interaction by the guests. Putting a text call to action or a bit.ly link to the site on the card for those who aren't QR code savvy will likely increase participation by the guests. Granted we haven't launch this yet and this is all conjecture but this is information we've gathered by talking to various front desk people in hotels in our area. The fact that very few of them even knew how to use a QR code on their phone leads us to believe that the vast majority of the population is in the same boat. People see them but they don't know how to use them but they can send a text message to get a link sent to their phone or they can type of link right into their browser. No one answer is the best but providing multiple options covers more bases in my opinion. |

1) I do NOT provide my ACTUAL sites.....this is a DEMO....strictly a DEMO to show others what I'm "aiming for"....to give them an Idea of what I'm referring to. 2) I ALSO use "Cards" that are in a Holder ON the display (not shown) These Cards also have stuff that provide Guests with MORE info about the hotel/motel they're staying at and....a "Map" of the area....again, reasons why the facilities LOVE to hand these out. 3) I ALSO provide the URL to the Mobil Directory so guests can simply type in the address. Again.....what I do here is just give viewers an "IDEA" of my "stuff". It's up to the Viewers to create THEIR OWN versions. ![]() Also....as an "extra point of clarification"....I've bought MANY WSOs and Reports and Courses on "How To Make Money with Mobile Devices" however, when I got all rigged up with my SmartPhone and an expensive software program that can "make Mock-Ups" of
1) what an existing website looks like on a cell and 2) what the same site COULD look like after I "Mobilize" it.... and I was SHOWING these to them on MY cell....2ft from their noses!!! STILL.....MOST site owners (in my area) said, "Nah! We've already spent too much on this internet-thingee!".....and, it was then I realized that no matter How Many Stats I brought up.....and the fact that they were "missing customers/clients/patients".....they STILL were NOT motivated to pay little ol' ME to make them a Mobilized Site. It was THEN....I realized 2 things 1) I had to give them a STRONG REASON why they NEEDED (not Wanted) to Pay ME.....to become "Mobilized" and.... 2) I had to bring some EMOTION in So.....just like a "Directory" program I started years ago (in the PRE-IM days) after I found I couldn't get local biz owners to pay me for any of my Ad Projects....I made up a "Town Directory" where I "salted" it with biznesses who were "Already IN" (They weren't).....but....the New Prospects THOUGHT they were, so.....their "Greed Glands" got the best of them (emotion) and.....they thought, "Hey! If THIS guy is in this..."I BETTER BE ALSO"! Thus.....when biz owners SEE.....other participants, "seemingly IN" the program....they DON'T WANT to let their competition get in....so, Emotion & Greed sets in and....THEY WANT IN.....NOW.....B4 THEIR COMPETION! I don't know whether anyone here understands what I've just explained so, some may think THIS is "BlackHat" or "UN-ethical".....SOBEIT! Understand ONE thing.....THIS IS HOW YOU SELL....WHATEVER YOU'RE SELLING! And remember my FIRST RULE OF SALES......"NO ONE WANTS TO BE FIRST"! If a potential customer/client SEES.....OTHER PARTICIPANTS IN the program......this "assures them" that.....THIS is A-OK! "Hey! If Mark from TopBiz is in this....I guess it's OK"! Even if "Mark from TopBiz is NOT....."really" IN......YET! I WILL contact "Mark from TopBiz" AFTER I've got most of my spots filled in with "REAL" participants! Anyways.....relax, I am NOT telling you to use "subterfuge" BUT.....this is what works for me! What would YOU rather do.....show prospects a BLANK SLATE.....where they wonder IF you'll get this thing going? Or,.....a Slate where it "Seems" that there are 2 or 3 participants ALREADY IN? If anyone viewing this has a "problem" with it.....maybe you should consider NOT getting in!......stay where you're at.....and.....understand ONE thing, I started out with selling Ad Spots on a Placemat in a restaurant in the small town of Rifle, Colorado. When I got permission from the restaurant owner to provide him with 10,000 FREE Placemats.....and proceeded to go to local biznesses with a "BLANK" Demo Placemat.....NO ONE WANTED TO BE FIRST! When I came back the next day with THREE Ad Spaces taken (bogus) EVERY biz owner I spoke to.....BOUGHT! So.....again, thanks for letting me expound. Don Alm.....long-Time Sales Guy |

I gotta say, I wouldn't have recognized it myself before about 6 months ago (though I see it now, thanks partly to some things I learned from Glenn Osborn as well)... ![]() Hey Thanks Dien......yup, as I've often said, "Money-Making" ideas are all around us"
ex: When I was in a hotel room I couldn't find a TV Channel Guide for the area. The TV Channels on the TV in my room was different than at home. I phoned the front desk and they said they "run one up to me". This was a nice hotel and a maid brings me a sheet of paper with the Channels listed. So....I look at the list and think, "Let's see; what if I put the list in 3 columns on a 6 x 9 cardboard.....put the Logo and Info about the Hotel at the top and a photo of a Pizza and Phone # to have a Pizza delivered. Then I notice I could put 6 ads on the back.....2 cols down and 3 rows across. Thus....when I got back home I made up a sample....went to the largest hotel and asked "If they had any Objections to me providing these at no charge." Then, made up some samples Ads and went to see some sponsors and found a very willing audience. Same with my 2ft x 3ft Map Boards mounted on Lobby Walls next to where guests checks in. Same with Flyers on Pizza Boxes. I got that Flash when I ordered pizza and on the boxes were taped flyers with coupons for re;orders. I thought, "Why don't I put Coupons in the middle of a flyer and ads for local biz around the edges. Same with when I entered a popular restaurant and saw a "cheap" aluminum frame with today's Daily Specials. Why not have a nice wood frame with framed squares around the edges for Local Ads? Same with when Faxes first came out.....the Pres of our local Chamber asked; "How many in this room have a fax machine?" Most hands went up. Since I was sitting at a table with 3 restaurant owners....I asked; "Hey! Why don't YOU guys send a "Daily Special Fax" to local business officeses?" The response was; "Hey Great Idea Don.....why don't YOU put it together and I'll be your first client!" Thus...."Fax Bux" was born. Same with when I first went to a Video Rental Store to rent some videos to watch with my grandkids. I removed a video from the plastic box....put the video in the VCR and placed the empty Case on the coffee table next to a box of "Photo Cards" I had just received from my supplier and....un-consciously put 3 cards on each side of the video case and WHALA....discovered 3 cards fit perfectly on each side! So....I made a Sample and visited a local Video Rental Store and asked the owner if I could supply him with FREE Video Cases.....that had Full Color Photo Cards on them (This was when Photo Cards first came out) He LOVED the idea so....I spent the next few yrs putting Photo Cards on Video Rental Cases. Same with when a local Paint Store owner (one of my Ad Clients) showed me a new product for "Renewing Wood Decks". He explained how this product was discovered and that HOW it would make Wood Decks look like New..... for 7 years. When I used it on MY wood deck WHAMMO!...I was sold and, I made up a Sales Presentation and went about selling a "Deck Renewal" service.....hired 3 guys (who I knew were on UNemployment BUT....were still looking for "Work") Thus was started "Deck-Re-Nu"! (My pitch to deck owners was Awesome) I then proceeded to build the biz and sold it 18 mos later for a Nice Chunk O Change! (Ohh....the Name of the Product is "ONE-TIME" Same when an "Internet Buddy" in Utah introduced me to a product that could REMOVE OIL STAINS FROM DRIVEWAYS AND PARKING SPACES....and still be "Environmentally OK"! Just sprinkle this special Powder and WHALA, Oil stains go away in 2 days. Banks & Fast Food drive-thrus LOVED this! So did Strip Mall and Apartment House owners. Wow.....the gal I set up in this biz is STILL going. Same with another IM buddy who told me about a product that could "Renew HeadLights". I tried it and WHALA.....went about selling local Car Dealers as a way to; "Sell their Vehicles FASTER and....for MORE MONEY!" When I was living in the Aspen Co area I had MANY local biz owners who asked me to find a way to get their Ads seen by "Affluent Diners" dining in Aspen's POSH Restaurants. Placemats were out.....Plastic Table Displays were out....I could do "Ads on Coasters" but, not enough Pizaz for me! Then, one day....as I'm in the John taking a pee at one of these Super-Fancy diners I notice the wall in front of me at the urinal....NOTHING! EMPTY SPACE! So, why don't I make up a "Wall Frame" that had some info about the Restaurant AND.....Space for 4 local Ads on each Board. I then created "HEAD-BOARDS"....which I proceeded to run with for a couple of yrs and even branch out to Less-Affluent areas. So....as not to take up more space....just a quick listing of some of my favorite money-makers; AD-MUGS - Ads on Coffee Mugs (8 restaurants in MY small town) WELCOME-MAGNETS - 8 1/2 x 11 Magnetic Sheets with the top 3 inches with Phone Numbers of interest to Home Buyers....4 Columns of Ads (in alphabetical order) 6 ads down and 4 across OIL CHANGE Cards - a Card entitling the holder to 6 FREE Oil Changes over the next 24 mos ($180 Value).....which is Sold....door-todoor for $20 ea. TOWN ON DISK - Area Info and Alphabetical Listings of businesses ON A CD.....MAILED to people asking the Chamber to send them info about our Town (2,500 a Year) ($500 A YEAR from each of 80 participating biz) BIZWORTH DISK - A CD with a software program that shows; "WHAT A BIZNESS IS WORTH in 30 minutes in the privacy of your office"! (I've sold hundreds of these for $197 to biznesses ALL across the country) And.....recently - APPOINTMENT REMINDER SERVICE - phone to confirm appointments for Doctors, Dentists, Chiros, Clinics, Auto Repair Shops,,,etc ($25 a day per client) (One gal I helped get this going is now (2015) collecting over $3,000 A DAY with she and her phone gals) Anyways.....excuse me for taking up this space but I thought 1 or 2 folks might like to know how I came to get involved with some of my projects and might inspire them to.....Give It A Go.... I ALWAYS go into a project with ALL Guns Blazing.....then....when I realize I'm not in the Aspen, CO area anymore.....but in "small average town"....the first few prospects...."Set Me Back off my High-Horse"....with the result being....with this project I had to drop back to $197 a month! Which is STILL $4,000 from 20 participants sooo....I'm going to add Gift Shops, Realtors and local attractions to my participant list. However.....4 Grand a month is NOT bad. Don Alm...... |

A couple questions if I might. I have looked at your Princeton sample many times so I think I know some of the answers but... Are you just putting ONE restaurant in each category? Do you find that the hotels have any issues with just one listing per type? I have talked to many of the lodging places here and several want to be able to offer more choices to their guests. (But they aren't providing this or paying anything for it so tough right?) I was thinking of putting three per category to offer variety and allow the restaurants to compete with each other for placement, but I dont want to over complicate it. Welcome any feedback you have. Thanks. |
