Wow! THE Best Source for Leads

Every year for the last 7 yrs our local paper runs a program called "Reader's Choice" where they ask readers for their opinions on their choice for the Top 3 biznesses in a whole bunch of categorys.

Then in Feb they publish the results in a Special Edition.... listing the Top 3 in each category (Best SteakHouse, Best Chiropractor, Best Plumber...etc)

And.....each biz in the top usually buys an Ad in this Edition.....touting the fact that THEY were the TOP Pick in their Category.

So....every year, for the past 7, I've been going to set up an "OnLine Business Directory, offering each of the TOP choices FIRST SHOT at an Exclusive Spot in their Category.

Well....this year I have a "student" who has the Time and Talent to do this AND....not only will it be an OnLine thingee....it will also be "Mobilized" for cell phones.....PLUS....I noticed that fewer than 5% (5 out of 100) biz have a mobilized website So.....guess what our UPGrade will be?

Anyways.....check your local newpaper (NOT the big-city ones) and see if they have a "Reader's Choice" type of year-end Special. If they do, EVERY Top Listing is a TOP Candidate for a Local, Town Biz Directory!

Hi Don,

That's a great idea... One reason why is because these businesses have already been "pre-qualified" in understanding the value of advertising!

You don't have to "edumacate" them on why good advertising is worth spending money on!

Go to YouTube and type in "best Utah businesses" and up comes a whole bunch of videos made by Ray The Video Guy......especially look at Ray's "Lawyer" videos and pay close attention to the THUMBNAIL Ray made for these.

Notice the PHONE Number IN the Thumbnail so that viewers don't even have to click to the Video....they can just Dial The Number.

Hey! One of my "students" (who sells a service of making websites Mobilized) is planning on going to our Annual Home Show at our Fairgrounds this weekend.

She got a List of the 120 vendors who have rented booths and she's planning on showing them what their sites look like on a Mobile and.... hopefully getting orders to make their sites Mobile.

120 Biz Owners in ONE Place! Sure beats going to their offices.

So.....if your area is planning a Home Show.....git yer buns over there and git some orders fer sumpthin'.

You have mentioned in other posts I think about a tool you use to show a prospect what their site looks like on mobile.

Is it showing what their could look like? Do you have to put that together beforehand or do you have something that works on the fly?
I just show folks their site as it is now and then a sample site I have linked on my phone.
Same thing or are you in possession of some cool whiz bang instant mobile mockup widget?

Also check your weekly paper for things like this. My daily does not do it but one of the weekly does with a big event that they put on touting the winners.

A few yrs ago I bought a software program from Quentin Brown that allowed me to create my own "mobil templates". I think a guy named Will R (Will Reilly) on Warrior Forum sells a program for making Mobile Directories.

My "template" is based on one I came across some time ago (see photo below)

Again what I like about Mobil Directories is that I don't have to depend on any participant's choices.....they either take MY choice or they're not participating.

And....when they see a competitor IN the Directory.....they MUST take a spot also.
