![]() This question was my focal point in this week's Fly Low and Collect the Dough UPDATE HOTLINE. I said it can be used to do a biz eval. So, now that everyone has the 52 ideas to help stimulate your possibility thinking, let's take a look at a couple.
Glenn just posted about rack jobbing, and his student with the gun club, which was card 26, and is a HOT business (all things gun). I gave several links to rack jobbing opportunities, and I like CONSUMABLE, especially snack food. They eat it, again and again. Penny gum made Wrigley a fortune, and MARS candy, the same. OK, rack jobbing snacks. What is your future customer doing now? He is buying Slim Jims, Jack Links, and other well established brands in the local 7-11, Circle K or Speedway. And they offer tons of alternatives, first is, how do you get shelf space? Well, fastest entry is to buy an existing route, where product is already on the shelves. And these giant chains might be hard to get into, maybe look at small independent stores, mom and pop places, or local and/or regional chains. One method is to bring something different to the table. Like Steve DiMarco did with Golf Courses and Bowling Alleys when he set up his NUT Warmers, it was something different. Had he tried to sell popcorn there, he probably wouldn't have had the success he did. I think "rolled ice cream" places is going to be a hot business, we have Handel's here, a similar concept where they mix the ice cream (a franchise) In fact, our several ice cream places are all doing pretty well, This in addition to prepackaged ice cream, and in my local circle K one freezer holds about 500 products, could easily fit into a small soccer mom van. Whatever the Biz Op, if you ask the simple question about what your future customers are doing today, you can gain some valuable insight into: the market, the competition, consumer behavior, locations and maybe even get enough evaluation to make an informed decision about the op. If you start a business and you have something no one else is doing then a follow up question, How will I let my future customer KNOW I exist and what will I tell them to get them to come to me? ![]() Thanks Gordon,
Just Read the Report you and Steve Did in 2014. LOVED the biz opp where you collect Pet Waste. I have neighbors with 2 or more dogs and cats. YIKES do they need that service. When I RARELY visit - I have to watch my Step. Cuz that CRAP really piles up on their lawns. Curious. What was Steve doing at cbrstystem.com Can't find the website active. Glenn |

a Cash Back Referral System. It was a coupon book of cash back referrals for tradesmen; roofers, window and other big ticket home improvement. Didn't work as he had hoped. Recently he told me, he is soon returning to the Rack Job SNACK and wholesale business with a specialty cookie, I believe. I was glad to hear it, he was in the Nut biz for over a decade and he liked the PULL of consumable snacks. Cookies worked for Amos (hear he got famous), Mrs. Fields, Little Debbie, Otis Spunkmeyer, the Girl Scouts, the Voortman Bros. and even super models like Karlie Kloss of Karlie's Kookies. Steve has owned a couple of franchises, is a master Print Broker and still does Print Advertising and promotional products. Once he has a Flag Ship cookie, I'll try the flirt technique with a lottery scratch off wrapped around a cookie? Gordon Last edited by GordonJ : January 26, 2017 at 07:25 PM. |

Like many of you, I've done the shoe leather to the pavement gig. The calling and selling thing. This is a push strategy, and push can become a grind. Like I said to my breakfast the other day, "You had me at Krispy", I was magnetically pulled to the small display case of fresh donuts, and was apparently hypnotized or was it seduced? That Maple Cream Smiley Face was flirting with me. Anyhow, when Steve had his nut kiosks and the warmers, the smell was the pull. A sample nut closed the deal. I like pull, such as the Ice Cones on a hot summer day at the fairgrounds. Pulls me in every time. So in addition to the question of What is your future customer doing right now, add in a marketing question, how can I PULL them in rather than PUSH them to buy. As a pitchman for cutlery, the bigger the crowd, the bigger it became. I think the Glenn "flirting" and tipping as you go thing is very much PULL, and the result of his case studies, others do some pushing (the giver) onto other people, makes things much easier when they want to come to you. ![]() Thanks Gordon,
As Dan Kennedy says, "To Guarantee Success watch what the masses do and do the opposite." "Flirt & Grow Richer" takes that advice to heart. I - Most diners COMPLAIN ***We Say thank you and give sincere (Non-T & A) compliments. II - Everybody else Tips at the End of the meal ***We Tip at the beginning of the meal III - Other Patrons IGNORE the waiter ***We SEE them as Real People and Thank Reward them through-out the meal. Doesn't seem like much. But Waiters and cooks and Restaurant Staffers are GOBSMACKED when you treat them as a VIP. (Golden Rule - treat others as YOU would want to be Treated.) ====== YOUR Comment about "PULL" is right on the nose. Since 99% of the world is CHASING customers and ASKING them to buy, buy, buy. Adding Flirting to Golden Rule Tipping has a Magnetic or PULL effect. A - Everybody likes to flirt B - "Funny-but-Great" things happen when you give away moolah C - It's great practice for people who want to Effortlessly practice the RAPPORT part of the s*ales process. (Which **AS you and I Know*** very FEW Sales books or gurus Address.) D - And after you Get Some FLIRT Tip Practice under your belt. THEN you move to the RIGHT LOCATION and do FLIRT TIPPING in front of...Your Ideal Prospects. Your own Industry. Or another Industry niche full of your prospects. My clients show up at local Industry Trade Shows and Continuing education events. Flirt tip to get ATTN and Rapport in front of their IDEAL Prospects. You can also RENT any trade show attendee and Booth Customer list and MAIL them. Email, phone call them. QUICKLY Test an offer for F-r-ee At the event. Then mail the offer that WINS to the whole list. A few other Locations are - Golfers. (The pro shop, the driving range, the country club restaurant or parking lot.) People waiting for their BMW at the car wash Up-scale Restaurants Tax Lien Auctions Poker Games - (I coach a few successful Poker Players - Flirt tipping the dickens out of the cocktail waitresses - during the game. It messes with the other players minds. Cuz THEY are trying to TAKE your moolah. And YOU are giving it away.) I don't Play Poker or gamble. Marketing info products is a sure thing IF you test fast and free. Thanks, Glenn |
