I feel the same way about slinging an axe, or chainsaw, so to me... work around the homestead could be even more dangerous. 167 farm workers a day are injured...and several hundred deaths a year attributed to working around a farm/homestead doing routine chores. At least up there, you know what you're getting into. Sure some birds, ducks, geese... but no copperheads, rattlers, or black widow spiders. To each his own adventures, eh?
