Default Is "RELENTLESS" effort required?

From a frustrated 40 something guy in my email inbox:

He's tried several things, yet keeps spinning his wheels, he says if IT (I guess succesns or financial freedom??) requires

he may not be up for the task and maybe give up.

My reply. I don't know.

My OPINION is, most people can't stick to a one year short term goal. It has been a decade since I adopted the Harvey Brody "VIEW FROM THE ROOFTOP" and backward chaining down the ladder approach. Yet scores of people have started, very few ever reach that year as they first imagined. Why?

Things happen. Recently, two guys moved and got new jobs, that type of thing slows people down. As does falling in or out of love. Getting sidetracked with emergencies, always putting out fires, crisis mode.

But I think persistence plays a role. Even more important are quick results.

See, the thing is, about BIG goals and the HUGE thinking is, it can become a grind and people lose site of the WHY they are doing what they do. Too many think there is a destination, a castle on top of the hill, where once they get too, all is well and they live happily ever after.

I like to get people some fast, quick results, especially if they are selling something, get something for sale quickly, build your list and solve your problems in the direction of your goals.

But being "relentless"? I don't know, I like consistency, continuous effort which builds on continuous results. But one guy's relentlessness might be a bit much for me.

How about you? Are you RELENTLESS?
