![]() Some of you may have seen this before...
It's a great article, from a few years ago. The gist of the article is that, to succeed (financially), all you need is 1000 true fans... What's a "true fan?" It's someone who wants to buy all your stuff... I'm a true fan of some people. I bought everything Gordon has produced... (That was still on the market, as he takes his stuff away faster than a road runner on amphetamines!) I've also bought all the non-fiction written by Denny Hatch... Then the idea is, produce enough stuff so people can spend $100 on your stuff per year. What this is would depend on the field... Could be reports, audiobooks, courses. It could be music and related merchandise. It could be access to instructional videos! If you have 1000 people spending $100 on your stuff per year - and you sell it yourself, so you're not paying a lot of "middle-men" - you'd make around $100,000 per year. That's not counting the "normal" fans... Who may not buy everything, but just buy some things... Can you get 1000 true fans? I think it's doable... But you have to engage with your fan base on a regular basis... It's worth a read...! 1,000 True Fans by Kevin Kelly http://kk.org/thetechnium/1000-true-fans/ Best wishes, Dien
