For example, the company I work for is Gold Medal Wine Club. Years and years ago we changed our URL to include "club" and it has so far been a smart move!

I've gotten much more into domains in the last 12 months or so... So this conversation sparked my interest (again)!

Certainly adding "Club" gives it a different feel... You're not just coldly providing a product, adding "club" makes it sounds much more friendly and social (in my opinion)...
