![]() I was waiting in line at the drugstore a few days ago, to get a prescription filled for my wife...
There was a guy behind me, and another guy behind him... The guy who was two people behind me was trying to look for something on a shelf, but the guy behind me was (unknowingly) blocking his view... The guy who was looking at the shelf got angry... I heard him shouting at the guy behind me... telling him to get out of the way, "I can't see through you, you're not invisible you know!" The guy behind me said to him, "you could ask nicely..." The angry guy kept railing at him... Shouting, even after the guy blocking his view had moved out of the way of the shelf he was trying to look at... I was worried they could get into a fight (even though they were two "older" guys)... So I said to the guy behind me (who seemed to be more reasonable)... "Just ignore him." He replied, "Yes, I know..." Then I added about the angry guy... "He probably has a sh*tty life..." I said that to make the guy behind me feel better (and it's probably also true)! But it made me think... It's generally not too good to let your ego get the better of you... It can make you angry, and make you make stupid decisions. That guy could have easily gotten into a physical fight. And over what? Just because a guy was, unknowingly, blocking his view of a shelf... As soon as the guy knew, he moved out of the way... But, it can affect you in business too... and your relationships... I try to keep my "ego" in check, when I can! That doesn't mean to not be confident, or to not be a "go getter"... But it means to not do stupid things... ![]() Best wishes, Dien
