http://network54.com/Hide/Forum/message?forumid=75048&messageid=966923240 There are some excellent ideas there for you. It is my opinion that Ricky Higgs and Jason van Hooft are posting some of the best information on the Internet right now. Keep an eye on these two, it will be to your benefit. I don't know either of them personally, and as is the usual case, I have no affiliation with them. But, I did communicate with Jason a few years back, and he left the Net, made a fortune in mailorder, and has come back on the Net. Ricky Higgs is one of the "NEW VOICES" in the wilderness and he has more than one established guru shaking in his boots. These 'fresh voices' are treasures. Some of the older forums seem to be on a loop, playing the same old messages over and over...and with often outdated info. These guys bring a fresh perspective. One that is worthy of a few minutes of your time. Visit their forums, you'll find hidden treasures, knowledge that can help you... That is why I asked Ricky Higgs, I KNEW I was going to get a great answer, then I saw some great ideas that I will incorporate. Thanks Ricky and Jason. I'll continue to introduce the NEW Kids on the block as well as refer you to the Old Masters. Gordon Alexander |

![]() Thanks Gordon for your kind words. It's interesting to see that a number of "us" who left the net a few years back are now returning.

Just for other readers info, I first logged onto the net about 5 years ago and came across Gordon's captivating posts on Bill Myers original board. It was about the time I was trying to get a mail order business off the ground. Whilst I enjoyed some success on the net then, I decided to focus all my efforts OFF LINE for a number of reason's. > These 'fresh voices' are treasures. Some of > the older forums seem to be on a loop, > playing the same old messages over and > over...and with often outdated info. This is probably the biggest reason for my returning to the net now. I do feel I have something to contribute towards others success and mail order is all about communicating your message. In day to day life we communicate verbally and phisically, but I've always found the net too impersonal. Its easy to "Not State The Truth" when you're hiding behind an email and website address. Becoming good at marketing means becoming a good communicator first. Yesterday I had a long conversation with a friend who has been generating a good income off the net for some time and I asked him what he thought was his key to success. He said "I now how to talk to people first, then I know how people react when I speak. I treat every bit of information I give out over the net as if I had the person sitting in my loungeroom" > playing the same old messages over and > over...and with often outdated info. In my opinion, the reason why some of the sites seem to be recycling "old hat" material is because they dont get out an communicate enough! Many of the readers take the advice given by some of the posters as gospel. A few days ago I posted a reply to a question on another board about marketing. A person disagreed with my post saying my marketing methods were outdated. I have NO problem with that! But I was then sent the most abusive email by someone I had previously respected, telling me how ridiculos my advice was and that giving such advice out would send someone broke, and that being a NEWBIE I should keep my opinions to myself! Now this wouldn't normally get me upset but for the fact I was posting on a subject I KNOW A LOT ABOUT, and have sold over 66 million dollars of products in! What people on the net forget is that a few of us still are out there, doing it, maiking REAL money using the techniques we promote. > These guys bring a fresh perspective. One > that is worthy of a few minutes of your > time. And that's the same reason why I am so attracted to this forum Gordon. Dean, yourself, and all the other posters are giving us a little more than marketing to think about here. You helping us examine our life. Where we are at, where we are going, and where we can get to if we want it! Helping us realise that the net is just a little part of life. Its just one way of communicating not the only way. Keep up the good work on this board, I enjoy visiting and reading the refreshing posts that are less about marketing and more about life! Have a great day...
