![]() You want the ultimate copywriting training course?
Is it a matter of life or death that you make money before Kim Jong decides to play donkey kong with the nuke button set up in his Elvis playroom? Keep reading if your blood pressure just shot up otherwise you may already be in a coma. With all due respect to the great copywriters here none of them have written the ultimate killer sales letter. This story is about the greatest series of sales letters ever written. Then read about the lonesome tipsy copywriter fighting not to buckle under to the slaughter of the direct mail lambs |

![]() Dear Garth,
Thanks. Great article you found. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationwo...,1105223.story I see you're a Gary Halbert student too. Gary uses some of the same Trust Building Copy strategies the investigator used to get the serial killer to admit to 48 killings. A BIG one is gifting the reader Small Rewards - (The investigator wrote letters about the FL Marlins, lent him books not in the prison library, came to visit, sent Birthday cards.) Gary's sales letters contain lots of Gifts: A - You laugh at some of his jokes B - You smile at his stories C - You get really valuable ideas, information and specific things to do - BEFORE you see any kind of offer. Many psychologists seem to think that Reciprocity is THE most powerful persuasion strategy of all. The bit about the investigator successfully convincing Viet Cong - to become US citizens shows these Trust methods are incredible. Thanks again, Glenn P.S. - We have all kinds of Free Gifts to share with people who order some of our E-Reports. Like "The FBI Truth Test" http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...9940&rd=1&rd=1 |

![]() Funny you should bring up Gary Halbert and all since he's a ex-convict as well.
Prison or some connection to it may very well get you out of the copywriting jailhouse. I just came across another story about a killer mutant by the name of Hitler. Turns out he wrote Mein Crap while in prison but here's the kicker it seems his power and influence in the outside world grew while he was physically in prison. Experts say without him GOING TO JAIL he would've FAILED. On the other hand take a guy like Nelson Mandela his power and influence grew (thank goodness) while in jail. Gary Halbert wrote the Boron letters while in jail. Rappers go to jail all the time then sell million dollar albums. How about putting together the Jailhouse Copywriting Bootcamp? |

![]() Thanks Garth, for the article (fascinating!), and thanks Glenn for your comment!
Glenn, one thing I got from your comment was that you showed (with your example of Gary Halbert, and in your own auctions and sales materials) that for "reciprocity" to work, the "gifts" don't have to be "physical"! As you point out - a "gift" can be an entertaining story, or a useful piece of advice or knowhow... That's valuable stuff! Thanks for sharing... ![]() Cheers ![]() Dien Quote:
