The best FREE audio program...

What is the best way to put audio on a web site, so that it starts automatically when a visitor hits the web site? I am looking for a free solution if there is one.

Free can be a difficult term to define

The best free open source sound editor is arguably Audacity:

And a good place to find some html or javascript to load your
page files is http://www.htmlgoodies.com

Depends a lot on your skill set and audio requirements.

I've got a basic online voice recorder that I'd be happy to
let you register and try right now for free in return for your
feedback.

I'm not really promoting it right now, but will be in few weeks
after I upgrade the site. And it does get the message across.
