![]() I personally think it sounds like an interesting opportunity. And it could be fun. I've heard of people who have done exactly what you propose. If I came across a situation like that right now I would consider it.
However, I would also closely consider various ways to resell the stuff. And whether I would really want to do any of them. Such as maybe have my own Garage Sale with the stuff. Sell it a flea market. Take the items to consignment stores. I think there could be lots of options. Of course it could strongly depend on what you have. This is especially true with eBay. I have only sold around ten items on eBay, but it's enough to know that some items sell well on eBay and others do not. I usually search to see if I can find similar items to stuff I want to list and find out whether it sells well or not. I personally find selling via eBay kinda a hassle and would rather hold a yard sale. Except when I'd think I could get more money from eBay. Here's a good example. I found some napkin rings at a yard sale for five bucks. I looked on eBay to see if could find any like it. Someone had listed eight of the same kind and they sold for about eighty dollars. Sometime later I listed four of mine on eBat and they sold for about thirty dollars. It's very unlikely I would've sold it at that at a yard sale. All and all I think approaching this couple and asking to take the stuff off their hands can't hurt. Good luck. Sharon |
