Default My sister in law did this. She would still be doing, yet...

...she got into a TAX problem, cause she was Toopid...but..,

she did good money...

How did she advertise? Local paper, bought a classified for a year. Used her cc, so she had monthly payments. Also, she had TWO signs made, like real estate signs...paid two people, one on each side of the street, both right before the cemetery entrance...

A website to post pics would be a good way to show fulfillment.

I'm sure some of you will find ways to complicate this very simple money maker, just from what I'm reading. She did ONE cemetery mostly, after a few months, she got calls from people who had loved ones in other cemeteries too. She did it for a few YEARS.

Dien, I wasn't even aware of the cemetery plot selling angle. After all, it is real estate. interesting.

Like Don was mentioning about his friend back in the 80's, I am currently staring down the barrell of a layoff. Been with local gov't for almost 22 years, but I can see the end coming soon. I don't look at it like the end to something, but being layed off would actually afford me time to do just about anything I choose, based on ideas from a site like sowpub.

My wife and I would work a business like Headstone cleaning together, and build it up over time. After all, what's not to like about it AND all the other angles that could be developed with it. I don't see anything wrong with working outdoors at your own pace and in control of how much you can make. Not only that, but you wouldn't need to put up with water cooler gossip and back stabbing office politics and waiting for your time off request form to be "Approved" for a day or week off. There would be none of that in the cemetery! Nobody giving you any grief!

Thanks again everyone! I'll post again with my results.

Default Fly Low and Get YOUR Dough... on KINDLE.

Hey Phil,

You wiretapping me? Cuz,

My NEW version, Fly Low Collect YOUR
Dough is one of my new KINDLE titles.

I no longer own most of the work I've done in the past...excepting SQ1 and New stuff.

But things have changed and ARE changing as we rush headlong into a Cashless society. Coming soon. Thank god for bitcoins, eh?

Not sure if Kindle is the answer for me, however, worth a try...and NEW updated information in a more condensed and less Gordon format, seems to be one way for me to go.

Thanks for the reminder.

Gordon

This is interesting. My son has a degree and has had a hard time getting a job in the financial industry.

How much do you think people would pay for this? $45.00?

It would be easy enough to put up a simple website and have a couple of upsells, such as regular flower delivery, periodic cleaning (like a maintenance contract)

This is good stuff.

I spoke (wrote?) way too soon.

Looking at some of those large headstones would require a lot of work, especially if you were to not only clean them but use a sealant of some type to keep them looking good.

Could be a couple hundred $$$$ per stone for the big ones. The gigantic monuments would be even more.

Hmmmmm......

Hi Djam,

I have found out that the smaller stones can go from $65.00 - $85.00 to clean. The larger ones anywhere from $175.00 - $250.00, since some can be really large monumnets. I've decided to concentrate only on Granite and Marble stones. The Limestone are old and can be easily damaged, so, no can do.

I have decided to also offer Graveside Maitenence (cleaning around the stones and flower/ornament delivery. We'll see how it goes and I'll post here to let people know.

If your interested in headstone cleaning just google Kendrick Lester Headstone Cleaning Guide. He's a young man in Idaho that has this down to a science and has shared his experiences.

All the best,

Rick
