Default Nodding...I get it now....

Happy Morning, Gordon!

Yes, yes yes! I see now!

I knew you and Rick had been busily creating and producing....far from inert. I was attempting, (obviously feebly! *smile*) for those of us who are not in continuous action or laser action or purposeful action...hopefully that makes sense...that actually brings forth something that can bring us income tomorrow so to speak.

My family is doing great....getting bigger every day. Although Kathie (my ever observant 9 year old) said this morning, "Mommy, I think you have gotten rid of some of that extra stuff that was left behind after Emma!(who is now 3)" Read, extra waistline which disappeared!

Now THERE is a product people would be..."The amazing method to losing incredible pounds and inches overnight!...and THEN some!"

May your health concerns lessen as well.

Have a delightful weekend!

With Purpose and Passion,

JULIE

JJS -

[Quoting from Gordon's message]

>Actually Rick and I have been in action for several months. We've got a 300 plus page manual and software almost completed. Those kinds of projects take time.

One of the challenges with software development is that it's very much a behind the scenes effort. It can takes *months* to get something ready for "beta testing" which is the first test cycle outside of the developer's company. Then, depending on the test results, bug fixes must be done and another beta release must be sent out. Unfortunately, buyers are generally unaware of this repetitive cycle. That's why software is so often delivered beyond the expected delivery date. And all the while, no one can see what you're doing so they think you're not making any progess. Contrast that with what Gordon posted about how long it took to create the first tape. That post was correct, BTW. It took about as long as Gordon said - 10 days start to finish.

>But what we wanted to do was be QUICK. So, in order to do that we actually had to put the BIG project up on the shelf for a few days, working on it in off times.

Also correct.

>Rick and I have been anything but inert working toward a successful project completion.

Yup. I wish I could tell you how much we've been doing. *g*

>I don't know anything about software, but
sometimes you run into problems that even the support people can't figure out, so delays are inevitable.

That's what happened in my case. The development tool I'm using was giving me problems. No one in the support forums could give me any ideas. I finally got the people at their headquarters to get me around it.

>> So, what makes you turn the corner towards
success?

>I personally don't think we've turned any corners, Rick will have to speak for himself. It is just a little different...

>kind of like going into the speed lanes on the expressway, where you get less traffic but you still go as fast as you can. So this project gets done quicker because you don't have the >problems to contend with.

I agree with this as well.

>The NET GUERRILLA vs. STUDENT OF MASTERS series is a very quick project that we are both doing while still doing other things too.

In fact, this is a concept we've been working on for some time. We just wanted to refine it and produce a product quickly as Gordon said.

>Rick is hard at work on software, and is, I think doing some consulting work.

Also correct. And it looks like I'll soon be taking on another long term consulting contract here in town.

>And of course that doesn't even count the time the man spends helping at church, or little league and all the family (the IMPORTANT stuff).

Correct again! Just got back this morning from our church's annual father and son campout.

>Just don't want to give the wrong impression Julie, and the call to action was within the confines of our already very busy and productive lives.

And that was one the things I liked about it. Concept to completion in 10 days. And when I say completion, as Gordon says, we were putting money in the bank at that point. Is it a lot? Not yet. Will it make us financially free? Who knows? But I already consider this to be a successful project. And tape 2 in the series should be taped next week. So we're quickly following one success with another. Striking while the iron is hot, so to speak. *g*
