Marketing - POP-UPS

I just recently read about using POP-UP messages, when a person leaves your site, to sign up for a variety of newsletters. This is a free program that promises that your newsletter sign up will be posted on some 15 other sites as a pop-up, with other newsletetrs of course. I think that it is an annoyance for people, but, many people are claiming that it can bring you a great deal of new subscribers, even if you only do it for a while.
