![]() The year was 1988. President Reagon had brought the Berlin Wall DOWN and Russia was "opening it's borders to "tours" by "westerners.
This caught my eye because in 1988 I was living near Aspen, CO and a buddy and I read that Russia was "lowering it's borders" and allowing "tours" to different places within it's borders AND...we attended an art show of "Russian Art" in the Jerome Hotel in Aspen. At this show, we met a rather "industrious" person (for someone coming from a Communist Country) This guy told my buddy Bill and I that he knew of someone putting together a "Siberian Bear Hunt"...and he thought THIS would be ideal to promote in our country. All of a sudden our "entrepreneurial ears" went UP and we both KNEW that there were probably 100 or so Zillionaires in the Aspen area who would LOVE to "relieve their boredom" by going on a Siberian Bear Hunt! So, we got the necessary info...made contact with the people in Moscow who were putting these "hunts" together.....and put together an "agreement" with them where we would pay them an agreed fee for 10 "hunters" on each "hunt". We then ran an ad in the Aspen Times announcing our upcoming Seminar on "THE FIRST EVER, GREAT SIBERIAN BEAR HUNT!"....to be held at the Continental Inn Conference Room this coming Wednesday at 7pm sharp. Please call xxx - xxxx for more information". We had a Voice Mail rigged up where we had a 2 minute message announcing the seminar and if the caller would like to attend, they were to "Register" by leaving their Name, Address & Phone No at the beep." 43 people showed up. We explained that this was the FIRST EVER Siberian Bear Hunt and ran some slides of the area and where the hunt would be conducted.....and that ONLY TEN people could go on the FIRST TRIP....JUST TEN! Well...I think the room was filled with millionaires and if it's one thing a millionaire doesn't want to hear is, "No! You CAN'T buy THIS with ANY amount of money!" When we made the announcement that JUST 10 people could go on the first trip for $12,500 each....25 people rushed the podium...slamming down their checks and credit cards. Well...we handled the situation and from that ONE seminar...put together 6 "Hunts". My partner got too greedy and I decided to drop out but it was GREAT FUN while it was happening. we were making about $50,000 on eachtrip. Talk about a HUNGRY MARKET! The SAME THING could be done again...in the "Package Tour" business. Find a UNIQUE Tour (a unique NICHE of people with similar interests)...something that is NOT your everyday run-o-the-mill tour and people will FLOCK to your "Intro Seminar" where you present Slides and info about the Tour (you "sell" it to a BUNCH of people at the same time)....and walk out of the meeting with $20,000...$30,000 or more IN ONE EVENING! Think about it! A buddy just called me telling me he had come across a unique "tour"....and would I be interested in promoting it in MY area. My wholesale cost is $1750....and i could easily get $3950 per person....making a cool $2200 per. Sell 20 of these tickets per seminar and you're talking FORTY THOUSAND A NIGHT! Forget the so-called "recession" or "down-economy" ...the folks WITH MONEY....ARE LOOKING FOR PLACES TO SPEND IT! Why waste your time selling 2 bit items to people who can't afford it anyway? Raise your sights! Sell HIGH-TICKET Items to people WITH BUX! Do some research...find a Unique & Different "Tour Package"...put together a "seminar" for it and "sell tickets"! Thanks for reading....Don Alm P.S. I thought I'd take a break between entertaining grand kids and toss something up on the boards for viewers to "chew on over the weekend". Might possibly give someone inspiration to do something to improve their lifestyle. |

![]() You're right. I went on a tour to the
California Redwoods(some of the largest trees in the U.S) and the tour driver is in the process of setting up tours in which you will travel across the U.S to see the "smallest trees" to the largest in the U.S.(which I believe is on the Oregon border)...He said he'll have no problem signing people up in the six figures... why? because of all the nature and tree lovers out there! Another friend took a trip to Mexico and discovered the "olmec" gigantic headstones; she took pictures and developed them and had wall "calendars" made(different pictures of the olmec stones for each month... What's an olmec head? do a search and learn more... http://www.crystalinks.com/olmec.html |

![]() I have "trained myself to be super observant".
One thing I remember when living in the Aspen area for 12 years....no matter what a "rich" person is wearing above his or her ankles...THEY WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE VERY BEST SHOES MONEY CAN BUY! THEY WILL ALWAYS TAKE CARE OF THEIR FEET! I remember seeing the author, Leon Uris (Exodis & others)...sitting next to my table at Pour Le France one morn...sipping on our Lattes. He had a holey, baggy pair of jeans...T-shirt and rageddy jacket BUT on his feet were a $2,000 pair of hiking boots. If you think back to the "OJ trial" remember OJ was wearing a paid of "Bruno Mahli" shoes! This observation has served me well in my adventures. Many times over the years I paid more attention to the person I was talking to and "knew" where he was coming from...if he was wearing a paif of Tony Lama cowboy boots...or other expensive footwear...no matter what they were wearing above their ankles. This might help you someday. Don Alm Make money Restoring Wood Decks |

I have no idea what some of my clients make, but both Bob Serling and Dr. Paul Hartunian have told me they use eBay all of the time. Pauls latest project for those of you who don't know, involves a non-profit organization that takes dogs out of shelters (often on the day they're scheduled to be "euthanized", which is a politically correct way of saying killed). He then puts them into foster homes until he's able to find permanent homes for them. He's been able to take hundreds of terrific dogs off of death row and put them into permanent, quality homes. He wants to create a nationwide network of foster homes for these dogs - thousands of them. The name of this project is the National Foster Dog Network. He also want to build four sanctuaries around the country for "unadoptable" dogs to live out their lives in comfort. The name of this new project is "Second Chance Dog Ranch" In order to get these two projects moving on a solid foundation, he needs $7 million. He has committed $2 million of his personal money to this project. If you have a couple of million to put into a non-profit organization, in my books -- that makes you rich. So yes, rich people use eBay. BTW: Paul has setup a mailing list for people interested in helping out with this project. It basically works like this -- if you help him make money for the National Foster Dog Network, he'll help you make money. Here is what he published to his mailing list: There are many ways you and I should be working together to produce very significant amounts of money for both of us. For example: * I can promote your products to my customers on a joint venture basis? I have 36,000 ezine subscribers and 74,000 additional "hard copy" customers. People I've done JVs with in the past have been very pleased with the results * you could promote my products to your customers on the same joint venture basis. I have dozens of products and I'm always creating new ones * ads are available in my ezine and my hard copy mailing list is available for rent on a one time or multiple time basis * one of the best ways I raise revenue is by speaking at seminars and bootcamps. So, if you help me get new speaking engagements, I'll send you a check for $1,000 for each engagement. * I could speak at seminars or bootcamps you sponsor or are affiliated with. When I speak at bootcamps I not only electrify the audience, I make a very impressive number of sales. You'd be getting 50% of all sales * we could do taped interviews on publicity for your niche market. I would show your customers exactly how to use publicity to promote their business (or just about anything else) across the country or around the world for less than they spend on a typical lunch. These interviews would provide new products for both of us, which we could offer to our customers. They could also be used to promote sales of my publicity kit on a joint venture basis * we could do teleseminars. I would set everything up. You would simply promote the event to your list and we would split revenues. * I have articles about publicity that can be customized for your market. You can post them on your website or send them to your clients. These articles can generate sales for my publicity kit, which we would make available on a JV basis * I have reprint rights for quality products available for sale * we could talk about other options. I'm open to just about anything that'll generate funds for the dog project. This project means more to me than just about anything else I've done. I'm putting in 16 and 18 hour days raising the $7 million I need. So there you have it. Big benefits for you, big benefits for me - and huge benefits for the dogs. I want to create as many win/win situations for both you and me. If the dog project makes money, so do you'and there's no limit! So there you have it. Rich people use eBay, and there are all kinds of opportunities to make money by "Keeping your eyes open" and in cases like this you can work towards a good cause. If you want to get on this list or have some idea for the project or Paul, you can email Paul at [email protected]. After four years of working with Paul I can tell you from experience he is a GREAT guy to work with. Best Regards, Steve MacLellan homebusiness-websites.com |

![]() Excellent observation Don....
but I just had to respond to the Tony Lama boot thing because my sister collects those expensive boots(she has every color & style)...now what's interesting: she's in debt because of those darn boots...And to boot: not rich by any stretch of the imagination(unless she decides to sell them on ebay) (smile)... But, they are the best boot money can buy... You: "I have "trained myself to be super observant". Sounds like the beginning of a new course ... |

> a 60.00 value purse I've always wanted > for 25.00...this is exciting!...this > could be addicting.. Hi Sandy, I agree - eBay CAN be addictive! :) Here are a few of the ways I know of which people make money from eBay.... 1. Sell on eBay.... You can easily buy from stuff from yard sales, buy liquidated stock below retail, or buy items unique to your area - and sell it on eBay for a profit. After a while, you'll find out what sells well, and what doesn't.... After trying it out and making some profits, once you want to go into it "big time", you can use a service like Auctionworks to automate everything for you. :) This is what some people do full time! 2. Buy stuff on eBay, and sell offline. If you know how to reach people interested in a very narrow "niche", you could possibly buy stuff of interest to these people, and sell it offline at a profit. 3. Buy at another online auction site, and sell on eBay! Auction sites with fewer visitors tends to mean that there will be fewer bidders.... That means that items can often sell at other auction sites for less than they do on eBay. So, you can buy there, and sell on eBay for a profit. 4. Buy products with resale rights on eBay, and sell the product outside of eBay. I'm amazed at the products with resale rights you can get on eBay - often for $5 or less! You can't get everything there like this - but there's quite a lot. Do a search on eBay for "resale rights" or "reprint rights" - make sure to include the quotes! After you've done one search, you'll see your search term in the left column, under "Basic Search".... From there, you can do a more thorough search, by also checking "in titles and descriptions" and searching again. Once you have a product with resale rights, you can sell it however you like - from your web site, in ezines, etc., or sell it on eBay too. 5. Buy businesses on eBay, fix them up, and then resell them. I haven't done this myself, but I've explored the idea.... I believe you can really make a lot of profits doing this, but you're talking about spending at least a few thousands bucks to get something decent. The key then is to improve the business, and sell it for even more. If you've been building your own business, you'll develop the skills to improve other businesses too. :) - Dien Rice |

![]() My mom observed the same thing of men, and the hands of the women. Why do they take care of their feet so well? They can dress like crap, but have the best shoes money can buy? Guess for some I can see, they want comfort, but others?? WHY?
