![]() Hi,
Here's 2-in-1: 1.) Dien got this exactly right: http://www.sowpub.com/cgi-bin/forum/webbbs_config.pl?read=3471 ...in which a year and a half ago he correctly predicted that blogging would be huge (which it definitely is). 2.) Here's another glimpse at the future, namely the future of online communities, given that right now 1/3 of people over 18 playing fantasy style games spend more time in the game than they do at work! [link is below...] Hope this was useful or interesting or something... Best, - Boyd http://www.time.com/time/interactive.../gangs_np.html |

[link is > below...] Very interesting, Boyd. Hmm, maybe I'll renew my plans to one day become a programmer. It would really be something to create a game, and have just a legion of followers completely addicted to playing it, even into the wee hours of the night. Success, Erik |

![]() I've spent time playing chess online. It's amazing... you don't have to actively seek someone to play against... they seek you once you "log in."
I found it too time consuming though... and a little difficult for an old timer like me to get used to flat computer chess pieces instead of real life 3D pieces. I also once played some kind of Star Trek game. You could either be a Klingon ship or a Federation ship. It was interesting to see people just up and join the game and even more interesting to see how total strangers would team up and help each other just because they had the same ship. The Star Trek thing needed software to be installed to play. Which I uninstalled after my "session". It's so easy to lose track of time when you are online. Michael Ross |

![]() Hi,
Think about the social and political climate of S. Korea. Think about the direction the social, religious, political and economic climate of America is heading. Think about the power of niches. Think about how well we know how to "get the word out" in a "compelling" way. Additional factoids: Here's an auction of virtual combat weapons and armor: http://www.playerauctions.com From a recent newsletter: "STAR WARS GALAXIES - this is predicted to be the next huge thing online. Over 134,000 people have signed up for the beta test alone. This could easily be the biggest online game ever and it is not even going to be released until december." http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/index.jsp Best, - Boyd |
