Default Help Marketing New Video

I recently completed a video about moving from the city to the country targeted to baby boomers. It's called,"The Great Escape: The City Slicker's Guide to the Simple Life in the Country.
In it, there is an interview with a woodstove dealer talking about the kinds of woodstoves that are popular along with how to determine the best kind of wood to use. There is another interview with a couple who built their own home in the country while holding down full-time jobs in the medical field. There is also an interview with a couple who moved from the heart of Chicago to a small town and how that came about.
There are good reference sources for people to investigate as well.
Since, I am really just starting out marketing on the net (I have had some success off the net), I would appreciate any tips, suggestions, or ideas on this. I am thinking of $34.95 as the price for this almost hour long video.
Thanks!

Hi Millard,

This is an off line suggestion. I've had pretty good luck marketing my videos to libraries. This might seem like a passive way to sell your video but believe me it works. This is also, in my opinion a very good price point. The videos I sold to libraries was priced at $39.95.

The absolute best way to get your video in libraries is through free editorial write-ups in library trade publications.

If you have any backend sales offers on your video this makes libraries even a better bet. Here's why; your video gets checked out continually by interested prospects who are hungry for any additonal information you can provide. I get calls all the time from folks who check out my videos.

Hope this helps, Millard.

> Hi Millard,

Have you thought about letting people download parts of it on a subscription basis....

I use mollyguard.com to sell subscriptions to my hypnosis video clips

Or you could let people download a sample before they buy it

I must say you have got a great tittle for your video

Best Regrads
Alex

Hello Alex,
I visited the mollyguard site. Can you please give some info on the actual mechanics of how to set it up. Can visitors only see one video or a group of videos or all videos. I have been developing a video training course for software that I want to place on a subscription site. People can then choose if they want to see win98/2K or Xp versions. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sam..

Hi Sam

Sure I can help..

I found mollyguard in the paypal help directory so I thought, well if pay pal is recommend it then it must be ok..

If you are like me and dont know how to password directorys then molly guard is for you

Requirements: Webmasters must have a business or premier PayPal account, and FTP access to your web server.

How it works:
Link Mollyguard to your site in 4 quick steps.
Point visitors to your unique subscription form.
Subscribers choose a password and then pay.
Only paid subscribers can access your web site's protected directories.

The best thing to do is to sign up for it its free while they are beta testing and follow the easy steps (make sure you have your ftp details ready and make sure you are a paypal users.

This is what I did
I created a webpage with 100 video clips and put them into a folder called hypnosispay.

When people want to subscribe they follow a link from my website, they enter a password that they would like and thier email address and paypal acount name and thats it it (molly guard will redirect them to the protected directory...
Try and keep pricing low under $10

I will be adding vcds and dvds later to my site so I willhope that people who enjoyed my video clips will order a whole show on Vcd or Dvd

Also Checkout (Link Lock)
http://www.vibralogix.com/linklok/index.htm

Linklok
As you probably know 2checkout.com provides an easy to setup service for receiving payments for your products worldwide. One problem faced by many developers however is how to provide a secure way to deliver digital goods after a successful transaction. The Linklok system provides a very secure solution and is custom written for use with 2checkout.com.

After a succesful purchase 2checkout.com can transfer control to the Linklok script on your server making use of their MD5 based secret word. Linklok will then display the download link(s) for your products and also email them to the purchaser. These links do not show the true location of the file on your server so there is no way to bypass Linklok. Links can be set to expire between 1 minute and several years later if required (or never expire).

Features
Simple to install (Just one file for default system)
Up and running in 5 minutes with step by step instructions
Uses PHP which is already installed on most servers
Does not require MySQL or other database system
Does not require cookies to be enabled
Will create secure links for product download only if called from 2checkout.com
Download links can be set to expire after fixed time period
Nobody ever knows the actual server location of the download files - not even the purchaser!
Supports unlimited products
Supports multiple products in one order (up to 10 in this version)
Uses MD5 security
Sends email to purchaser with secure download links
Built in or user defined templates for email sent, download links page and error pages
Expiry time can also be used to allow access to updates of your product for registered users
