Default Recent Barter Deal Made Me Think

I had someone call me recently who didn't have the $ to pay for my consulting service so they offered me furniture instead.

I accepted, provided consulting service they needed and drove away with my new furniture on my trailer an hour later.

COOL!

And that got me thinking. There are probably a lot of other local businesses that would like the opportunity to do the same with their service/product.

How might a non-techie kind of guy create a "toll position" of sorts setting up a simple "local barter" network/operation?
