![]() Gordon,
You're right.... we are only just beginning. I'm excited too to see where WE (both the small "we" and the big "WE") will go.... :) I've made my share of mistakes, and I feel so lucky to have had you and the others here to help steer things the right way. I think this is a unique little niche as far as the marketing-style forums go.... It may not be to everyone's taste, I know. But we try to give good information, free of hype. I believe in honesty and truth. I know you -- and most of us here -- can give nothing else. I like to think of this as a sanctuary, where you can relax and be free of the greed-based hype surrounding you in other places. Instead, I hope this is a place where we all journey towards lives of happiness and independence.... Those who have posted here before, who have emailed me, and those who visit here regularly, are the people I like to spend time with. That's because we clearly share something in common.... And what good is business if you're not working with the kind of people you love? I REALLY dislike falsehood in any endeavor, including marketing. And sometimes there's a bit too much of it in some of the other places -- sometimes they will even cheer when they've "put one over" on a prospect.... I prefer instead to work based on ethics and friendship, using honesty and truth. For some people in the marketing world, this seems "radical" or even "rebellious." But maybe it's time for a change? Gordon, for me, Sowpub has been like captaining a vessel of discovery into what, for me, were uncharted waters. I feel it's like being Christopher Columbus, looking for a new passage to India, yet discovering the New World! The New World for me has been the New World of knowledge we have learned about here. :) And I want everyone to be able to jump on board and join us for the trip! Yes, when you told me the story about the ghost of Mary Campbell as we stood in Mary Campbell's Cave, the hairs did stand up on the back of my neck. I've never been good at hiding my emotions.... I'm a terrible actor, my friends have always been able to read me like a book. :) And the unknown world out there does fascinate me. There are some strange things going on in this world of ours, things we don't yet understand.... Like the ghost of Mary Campbell.... Isn't life fascinating? :) Dien Rice |
