Default They're still copying Halbert

Hi,

Remember Halbert's ad for Tova that said something like "We categorically deny that this perfume contains illegal sexual stimulansts!"

Check out the Isuzu ad below.

Best,

Hey Boyd,

Awhile back, you asked the board what the biggest
lesson they learned from Gary was. I had to think
for a while. I think it was his story about the
hamburger stand...to be successful, you need a
starving crowd! i.e. look for the crowd, then sell
them what they want.

Thanks....

As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.... :)

The ad sure induces curiosity.... Even though they "categorically deny" it, it still makes you wonder.... :)

By the way, Boyd, that "Adflip" site is a great resource.... I can see myself spending hours going through those ads. Thanks. :)

I found an ad by Joe Sugarman (look for JS&A), ads by Drew Kaplan (look for DAK, but ignore "Kodak"), and ads by Richard Thalheimer (look for the Sharper Image).... All great copywriters.... The site is a joy to peruse! :)
