![]() In a previous post, Dien had posted a quote...
"...The man who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever been." This post struck a cord with me and I had promised a reply... During highschool, I always felt like I was Walking Alone...and Boy oh BOY have I ended up in places where nobody else MY age was frequenting. Here's the deal: At 15, I was meeting famous people like Jean Claude Van Damme, Gladys Portugese and Elton John... At 16 I was getting autographs from famous late night informercial gurus ALA Anthony Robbins... At 16 (Again? Yes this was a good year) I was becoming known as the "memory guy" around school...Next thing I know, I'm performing Memory stunts on the tropical Island of Barbadoes in front of over 300 hundred students! You try and turn the words "ambidextrous" and "psychosomatic" in pictures At 17 I found myself locked in a small room halfway across the city for 3 full days! I was being trained in the latest NLP/Modelling techniques by a gentleman that trained the U.S military in improving their rifle training program At 18 I was dining like the Rich and Famous inside the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel banquet Hall!(My Girlfriend enjoyed these dinners) At 19 and after, I found myself in jobs which I really should not have been in based on my age and experience. From dealing with leading Telecommunications Corporate accounts, to performing Computer Consulting???(What do I know about fixing computers) ...But the kicker and the lifelong dream of mine,....was when I flew out of Cold Toronto Canada...and wound up in Sunny Arizona. I awoke one morning, and I was being trained by one of the TOP NAVY SEALS TRAINERS! Look out Black belts Here I come!!! Yes! I have always "walked alone" in my interests, and have wound up in some highly unlikely places! The RESULTS: LEARNING, STORIES AND some unique experiences that I would not exchange for anything! Dare tO BE different it could change your life! Thanks for Reading! Duane Adolph |

I'm just starting to look at NLP. What would you recommend as a good intro? Regards, Ken |

![]() Duane!
Man, I can tell you're going places! :) These sound like they would make great stories! I hope you'll share with us how some of these things occurred.... It's true though, unless you put yourself "out there" (not caring too much what others think), you won't get anywhere.... If you're always looking over your shoulder to see what people think of your actions, then you won't be walking down any untrodden paths.... Yet it's the untrodden paths which can be the most exciting and fun. :) Duane.... I hope you'll share some more details of some of your experiences. How did they occur? Thanks! - Dien P.S. Sorry I've been a bit slow in replying lately, as I mentioned in another post below, I had some guests who I've been showing the local sights.... However, I've gotten a lot of insight into how Silicon Valley works in the process (as they are very much a part of the Silicon Valley start up scene). But I've recovered now (we had a few very active days going out and also seeing the scenic attractions, combined with not enough sleep!) and things are now back to normal.... I'll be sharing some of what I learned.... :) |

![]() Hi Ken,
> What are you up to now? What do you do? I'm currently putting myself through my own "bootcamp for wealth creation" (more on this later) > I'm just starting to look at NLP. What would > you recommend as a good intro? An excellent intro would be the tape series by Nightingale Conant "NLP THE NEW TECHNOLOGY OF ACHIEVEMENT" Here's there number 1-800-233-1657 (this number is straight of the tape series. It may have changed) The course will provide you with many techniques for different areas. Each technique is presented by many different practitioners. I found the tapes better than most books on the topic because it was broad in its applications. For Business Applications try the book "THE POWER OF BUSINESS RAPPORT" by Dr. Michael Brooks. Some other popular authors are Connirae and Steve Andreas (Founders of NLP Comprehensive) Let me know if you would like more information. (I can't write it all here :->) > Regards, > Ken |

> Man, I can tell you're going places! :) Thanks Dien! My current mission is to determine SPECIFICALLY which direction I want to go. TOO MANY options! As Gordon has been asking, WHAT DO YOU WANT??!!! > These sound like they would make great > stories! I hope you'll share with us how > some of these things occurred.... I will most definitely share how these occurred. > It's true though, unless you put yourself > "out there" (not caring too much > what others think), you won't get > anywhere.... Yes! Indeed! I do concur. > If you're always looking over your shoulder > to see what people think of your actions, > then you won't be walking down any untrodden > paths.... Yet it's the untrodden paths which > can be the most exciting and fun. :) I would add that if you are looking over your shoulder, YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU FOCUS ON ie. what everybody else is getting! > Duane.... ( I was in IT a couple of months back and I am debating whether to return) Duane |
