![]() Tip of the hat to old friend Jim Straw, he is missed. In his course on buying and selling liquidations and overstocks, Jim pointed out that sellers are buyers. I don't believe in retail, (for me), as a way to make under the radar money as our FLY LOW COLLECT THE DOUGH thinking goes.
Retail has too much slop. BUT, if you spend some time making contacts, you can flip pallets of goods pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty easily. It goes back to the Chattel Report, The Sprint to Freedom and the thing 99% don't do... build up networks. So much easier if you know people in your area whom will take your junk off your hands and you profit. It is no different when buying pallets of junk. Dien has recently experienced International Chatteling and the whole retail thing...a good experience but not much of a fly low thing, too many regs, rules, laws and what I call slop...but, if you can pull it off, can be very lucrative. Before I get too far along, maybe you are unfamiliar of the PALLETS OF PROFITS (should I write a report?)... So take a quick look at a small number of sites so you can see for yourself what all the BrewHaHA is about, ok? Ever hear of Walmart? https://liquidations.walmart.com/ Might find a bargain or two there. Now, a list to quickly look at just to confirm there is a huge market...but don't go down too many rabbit holes yet. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Esse...ndLiquidation/ I belong to this group as well as many others. https://www.alltimetrading.com/500-u...FZA1aQod18kJyw Cosmetics. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/1621506...&ul_noapp=true ebay, always a good place to look http://www.hjcloseouts.com/catalog/w...s-merchandise/ One of the big guys in the biz https://www.closeoutcentral.com/Gene...rchandise.html All kinds of stuff http://www.warehouseone.net/ https://www.facebook.com/tristatemerchpallets/ One of dozens of such places https://www.facebook.com/groups/5517...0008052520082/ More https://www.facebook.com/Pallet-Para...4600682/groups OK, you get the point. There is a ton of stuff for sale out there. You could set up a retail space, there are lots of places vacant, I say YOU could, I wouldn't. You could buy spce in a flea market, not a bad idea if you have a local one which gets a good amount of traffic. You could focus on higher priced items and craigslist them locally, like buy a pallet of Walmart TV's, and sell them one or two off on craigslist. Check out B stock http://bstock.com There are tens of thousands of pallets full of merchandise selling for pennies on the dollar. Now, I'm lucky in that Akron is just a few hours from a dozen of these places and in many cases less than 90 minutes. Very easy to get to and SEE for myself and toss them in the van or have the pallet loaded onto a truck. But I don't warehouse (much) but a new U Haul just opened up down the street and I may rethink this a little bit, it is an indoor climate controlled storage center. Anyhow, you can see there is a huge amount of stuff. How to profit? Well, using Jim Straw's idea that buyers are sellers, jump on google and search your area for stores. These are potential buyers. Here is ONE idea, offer your pallets or parts of them as A PIECE OF A PROMOTION or giveaway. Stores can have drawings, contests, collect names and build lists by using merchandise for promotions, and you could run the thing. You become, in effect, a PROMOTIONS consultant, and even if you break even on the pallet, so what, your CONSULTANT FEE could be a very nice paycheck for you. I'll have more on this (maybe) if interest is shown. I'm only going to write about what people want, both here and in the FLY LOW COLLECT DOUGH UPDATE HOTLINE. I've got 50 years of experience to tap into, so tap it (but not in any sort of sexual way {unless???} HA. GordonJ PS. In the past I've done well with overstock jewelry, much of it came from SCI, and they have pallets they offer too. Having seen which promotions worked, it was easy to adjust that to getting rid of jewelry. |

![]() Odd. I was just thinking of the late great J.F. (Jim) Straw and how I wished he had put together a report on BARTER! J.F (Jim) Straw had a cool way of breaking things down to the very fundamentals. I sense an opportunity in barter, perhaps in a not-so-fly-low way. [Warning: I'm just typing this off the cuff so the thoughts are rather undigested!] The idea is: 1. You get small business people to trade their merchandise with you (For what, I can't figure out now. Maybe seminar tickets!!!) 2. You "cash-convert" the merchandise by partnering with TV/radio stations (How? Again, I just sense it can be done!) How can I get this right, Gordon? |

This is an amazing post... ![]() What many people don't realize is that there is potentially BIG money in this area... But you need big capital too, to make the big profits. Fortunately, it is an area where you can start relatively small, and grow... (The Chattel Report essentially reveals the basic process, though for simple second-hand products... The process is the same when you go to pallets...) As Gordon says, you need two things - you need to know where you can buy, and you need to know who you can sell to. Who to sell to is probably the most important part, though knowing where you can buy cheap is also critical...! Some people find good sources, and won't reveal them even on pain of death. So, knowing a good source can sometimes be very valuable information... ![]() (Believe it or not, not everything's on the 'net!) Best wishes, Dien

Barter and small business could be a headache for them...in the last 5 years the IRS has clamped down on barter, TAXES of course, so the type of barter needs to be set up with full knowledge of the rules, etc. Merchandise is purchased either through wholesalers, and often on credit. I'm not sure what you want to do, but, it sort of reads to be messy. Radio stations do this already, have for decades. What do they need you for? If you flesh it out a bit, then maybe we can advise or suggest. As for a pallet of goods...you could walk into store and offer a promotion, like sign up for a drawing. Create a display and have the merchant collect names, emails and phone numbers and he picks a winner every couple of days (month or two week promotion). I'm not sure what advantage your idea has over just buying a pallet and selling it on craigslist. The fewer people involved the better and I think you are right, it isn't (or doesn't appear to be) a Fly Low -Collect the Dough operation. GordonJ |

It is as much WHO you know as the supply/demand. I like what you did Dien, the whole truckload of product BUT, it comes down to networks, or having buyers. There is a guy a half mile away who buys and sells heavy equipment, I've written about him before. His profit from one big Cat or land mover, could be as much or more than a truckload of product which has to be sold over time at retail. He makes ONE sale of ONE item and profits into the tens of thousands of dollars. As for big PROFITS on high risk (cause you don't know if they will arrive on time, if they can be sold, what events could effect them)...if people just stayed with everyday mundane items that people are always buying, and just went up the GROWTH plan as written about in the Sprint to Freedom... they could get to a higher profit level at a much lower risk. AND, at the big dollar levels of, for example: http://www.machinerytrader.com/listi...013-deere-460e At over 300k, it could have a lot of profit and or a FINDER'S FEE built in. So, then it becomes a connection business, maybe a district in China needs something like this and there is a Jim Straw type of opportunity with an Option to buy contract for very little money out of pocket. I don't think one needs deep pockets, just the right CONNECTIONS, when performing Finder Fee type deals. Not much risk at all. There is so much opportunity, one has to take time to determine what he wants to do. Then, do it. GordonJ Last edited by GordonJ : October 3, 2016 at 10:26 AM. |

...it IS messy! You need to see the VOLUME of content I've consumed on barter, yet something doesn't quite click when I try to figure out how to implement. Thanks for the heads up; I'm grateful. |

As Dien would say, learn by doing. Gather your "junk", take a pic, put it on your local craigslist under the BARTER section, see what offers, if any, you get. The thing is, barter is just another way of exchanging value. All that VOLUME of content doesn't do you any good, until acted on. Start small, make a few transactions, with what you have, where you are, and grow from there. Remember that guy who started with a paper clip and wound up with a house? It sounds, perhaps, you want to pole vault over the baby steps, a good way to end up on your head. IF your bartering starts to get complicated, cause some of those courses are pretty convoluted, then just ask yourself if this is an effective use of your time. Good luck. GordonJ |

They specialize in Salvage, have some interesting stuff there. When searching, start with the pallets which are manifested first, so you know what you are buying. Gordon |
