Thanks Ankesh, I've bookmarked that webhost a multiple domain host at $10 a month great value! One thing, do you have to register the domains through them in order to be able to host your sites there? Because I have found $4.95 domains so I may well give this ago bearing in mind I don't have to have a webhost if I'm going to use seedo. Then my break-even is 0.0135c a day or 0.4125c per month. You said you were making 60c a day for 3 accounts 0c for 2 for an average of 0.36c a day per account (did I get this correct?). So you are 26 times over break even (using $4.95) or 13 with godaddy.com. This seems to good to be true are my figures accurate? Also do you have any tips on what domain names to pick. I might go the bmeyers route and use misspelled domain names, I'll have to go through his videos on this, you've set a spark alight. Thank you. |

![]() I have re-read your post and I think you mean you made 60c a day for all 5 domains? 3 make a profit and 2 have not yet so an average would be 0.12c a day per site.
Using $4.95: 0.0135c a day or 0.4125c per month 0.12/0.0135 ~ 9 times break even or 4-5 with godaddy Still good %'s though! |

That is correct. I'm not looking to register 500-1000 domain names and turn this into a full fledged revenue stream - at least not yet. May do so after some time... But here are some ideas for domain names: 1. mis-spelled domains 2. future trend domains (many new words are coined every day - keep an eye out for ones you think are getting famous) 3. minor celebrity names (one of my domain names is the name of an upcoming celebrity - not famous now - but I think has potential - I get 2-3 clicks on that everyday. If the person gets more famous - I'm betting I'll get way way more traffic) 4. phrases with city or region in it - for eg: and this is just an example - nydentist.com or something 5. popular phrases people search for (try spyfu.com to find them) |

No - you don't have to register the domains through them to host with them. Just to clarify: You don't need a web host if you are just looking into domain parking - sedo.com takes care of that and is free. Also - you can search for "dreamhost coupon" on google and find a coupon code that will give you $97 off for the first year. That way, it'll just cost you $23 or so for first year of hosting. After that, it'll be back to $10 a month. -- It would be great if you could share your $4.95 domain registrar with us. |

Sure thing its www.netfirms.com just signed up my first domain. I got the link from about.com so I presume their reasonably adequate. They also give you 25mb free web hosting, which is enough if you want to create a very basic landing website. To find my domain name I used a misspelling of betfair.com (a UK betting exchange that generates good traffic). I found my variation through a misspelled domain generator this gave me my domain (betfakr.com) that obviously exchanges the i to a mistyped k, quite a nice tool. Although I did have to search through about 20 misspellings to find an available misspelling (just shows you people must be doing this). I created a sedo account. I then used my netfirm control panel to forward this domain to my new sedo.com parking account. I have also changed the keyword to optimize my advertisements, although this can take up to 48 hrs. I don't really care if I lose money it's a very interesting concept. For $5 I couldn't resist. Keep you posted.. oh yeah thanks for the coupon tip! PS: Might have to register, haven't been around sowpub since the forum changed to this version. Looks nice |

![]() Sorry Ankesh I left out some vital info.
The $4.95 price is for the 1ST year ONLY.. It than reverts back to $9.95 There is also a 5 domain name limit. But like I said it's only a trial so I'm happy paying half-price to test this idea out for a year. I'll probably register 5 and see how it pans out. Although there was another $5 domain host I'll look it up again and get back to you... |

![]() I know this guy is selling something ,just cant figger out what ...is the 301 redirect an 'internet' term?
Yes. By registering a bunch of domain names and simply parking them on your main domain you have created a group of domains all having exactly the same website and web content. It's called duplicate content and in the eyes of all major search engines it is just plain "BAD" practice and your site WILL be penalized. So does that mean you must create different websites for each of the domains? Well, you could if you really wanted but that would be a lot of hard work - wouldn't it? The solution is a simple 301 direct. Using a 301 direct on each of your domain names you are able to redirect the domain to you main website address and will not be penalized by the search engines. In fact they like the 'good-old' 301. It will actually IMPROVE your ranking. So remember, registering multiple domains is an excellent strategy for driving extra traffic to your site BUT just be sure to use the 301 redirect command on each otherwise you will be penalizing yourself! |
