![]() seems to be a southern tradition but many people from the "north" ie yankees seem to get their fix when they come down south. NOW its not hard to boil peanuts, but to do it right we seem to give the peanuts a "BAM"!
So what does this have to do with business? Seems like every yankee that comes thru SC has to try them. Some don't like em' ..... MOST love em.... The one's who love them in the north is your business! So if you are in the northern part of the usa, or a place that doesn't have "boiled peanuts", then get you a small trailer, add a couple of burners, a couple of peanut pots, a roadside place to sit and turn some southern cuisine into a profit. ![]() Then place a couple of signs along the road "BOILED PEANUTS" and get ready to make your mortgage payment this summer only working a few days a week. Summer time is here and its ready to give you some money! BTW..... if you shoot me a pm I'll share with you my recipe for Cajun Boiled Peanuts! later... Pappy |

![]() Pappy,
Even here in TN you see the Boiled Peanut stands all along the road during the summer time. The REAL question is.. Where do you buy the peanuts! Pete |

![]() Hey Pete: I buy mine at the local farmers market. Or find you a peanut farmer. They are better green out of the ground.
Completely changing the subject, Besides tasting great, they are filled with antioxidants. So to wash down these babies down, I've switched from mountain dew to green tea. I shouldn't have an oxidant in me! ![]() later... Pappy |

I LOVE boiled peanuts! Is it possible to make them with already-roasted peanuts (in the shell)? Or does that not work? ![]() Cheers, Dien |

![]() Hey Dien: Not work! Actually once the peanut has been roasted all of the water in the peanut is gone. Thus nothing really left to cook and to absorb the water from the boil. So you need some fresh peanuts or green (out of the ground) peanuts. BTW I have seen people take roasted peanuts and fry them. Basically they are frying a "done" peanut. I don't care for them but they are in all the stores now.
You CAN fry a fresh peanut (use peanut oil ![]() later.. Pappy |
