Search around for an older version of Acrobat such as 3.0 or 4.0. I've seen 3.0 for as little as $30 when I was shopping for other things. It's worth a look. There are some free alternatives but in my opinion it's better to go with the real deal. HTMLDoc and Ghostscript coming to mind as freebies.
