Default How a great hypnotherapist used "secret commands" to hypnotize...

THEN the 1st sentence says this. (Which I have shortened.)

"You'll find lots of new things in this book including 400.00 - so I think You
should buy multiple copies!"
Thanks Glenn for that incredible insight!

This also reminds me of embedded commands in Ericksonian hypnosis and NLP...

That's where you "hide" a command in the sentence.

Ellen's first sentence is a joke - but it also subtly includes the command, "buy multiple copies!"

It flies "below the radar" of the reader - because it's actually a joke!

You can also use embedded commands as part of a question, part of a statement, or part of a story...

The great hypnotherapist Milton Erickson could hypnotize people by just telling them a story, by using embedded commands in the story.

People would hear the story, and feel good while they heard it. They'd feel wonderful!

That's because they loved the story. When they heard the story, they'd feel on top of the world!

By the way, just by saying "feel good," "feel wonderful," and "feel on top of the world" in those last few sentences - I could subtly influence you to start "feeling good" yourself... They were very simple "embedded commands!"

Of course, it's more effective if you weave these kinds of phrases through a longer story, if you wanted the listener to feel good when they heard the story.

That's in a nutshell how embedded commands work...

I've experimented with them in the past - and I do believe they work...

Thanks again, Glenn... It's amazing when you write a post on such fascinating topics!

Best wishes,

Dien

Default NLP Ad for Dien-Glenn

Thank You Dien,

Glad you Enjoy my NLP-In-Print Case Studies.

It Really Bugs me that this Manipulative NLP stuff is everywhere
but none of the "Experts and gurus" that use it on You/me/US
share how it's done.

It's like some deep dark secret.

(Even George Lucas disguised it as THE FORCE in his Star Wars movies. Disney CERTAINLY knows how to use NLP in more Star Wars movies!)

I've had to publish my own personal collections of NLP Word Magic
Just so I'll have something to REFER to when I beat
my clients Ads.

Here's an ad I just wrote up
based on the content of a
Client's emailed Note to me.

(THINK of Gary Halbert's *Letter to MOM* concept when he wrote the ad
to sell an old car. That is the Mindset behind the ad.)

The Client already posted this in his city - on Craigslist.

Just met a lady at an Awards
Dinner in Naples. Her Firm
P aid 10K for a website
Then 1500.00 a mo for 2
Years & got ZERO Results.
No Rankings at all.
CHECK OUT My Latest
Clients #1 Ranking Here _____________
Then call me at ______________

Thanks,
Glenn Osborn

P.S. - "THINK" and "Just" - are both NLP commands. Ooooh - big secret.

Dien,

Those Honeymooner episodes were known as "The Classic 39" since 39 episodes were made during the 1955-56 season. They were the best of the best.

Not sure if anyone here remembers, but in one episode Alice is given a really cute puppy. She keeps Ralph from being aware of this right away, so she has some time to work on him to agree to keep it. Long story short, she keeps dog food in the old refrigerator they have. It gets noticed by Norton while he raids it one night, takes it out, puts some on a cracker and ENJOYS it.

Ralph comes home and notices him eating this. He tries some and thinks it's the best home made appetizer he ever had. To get financial backing to market this new creation, he decides to take it to his Boss, who is known for helping finance creative ideas. The Boss LOVES it and decides to share it with three other management fellas just to get their input. Two of them love it and the other, who raises dogs, just happens to recognize the smell. Once it is confirmed that it is in fact dog food, Ralph faints on the floor in embarrassment. He goes home, finds the dog and takes it to the SPCA to get rid of it before Alice comes home, despite Norton's objection.

At the pound he has second thoughts and ends up bringing home the puppy plus two other dogs that were due to be destroyed.

It never worked out for Ralph, but I always admired his determination. With the tools and possibilities all of us have today, Ralph Kramden just may have become an entrepreneur success story. Loved the show.
