Trump's mistakes... and Clinton's too...
Quote:
Because of that, it's okay for a book or a magazine article... But it will never make "current affairs" - because there seems to be nothing new. On the other hand, the Trump tape - although the recording is from 11 years ago - is new public information, which is why it's considered "news"... They need something "new" if it's going to actually be "news"... That's just how the news media works... (I know this from my experience getting free publicity through media releases! If it ain't "new" they ain't gonna print it or broadcast it...) The second problem is that Bill Clinton isn't the one running for office... Hillary scandals are more relevant... There are plenty of them, but Trump has actually been quite poor at hammering them, and he's let her get away with quite a bit. He's spent way too much time hammering people like the Khizr Khan, that Latina Miss Universe winner, and so on. These things have been bait served up by Hillary, and Trump has taken the bait pretty much every time. She does it to distract Trump from her own scandals... An attack on these people is not an attack on Hillary at all, so for Trump to spend so much time attacking Khizr Khan, the Miss Universe winner, etc., is time wasted, as it's time spent not attacking Hillary. He's let her get away with a lot... On the other hand, Hillary hasn't let herself be distracted in the same way. Trump's parading of Bill Clinton's former mistresses is an example... Hillary has refused to even mention it, because she knows it's a distraction from attacking Trump directly. The two big mistakes I've seen her make is her stumble (said to be from pneumonia), and her calling some of Trump's supporters "deplorables"... Trump is far better at "showmanship," getting attention, getting publicity, and being entertaining. But the Clinton team are old hands at political strategy, and I think so far it shows... Best wishes, Dien (Election junkie, strategy junkie, free publicity junkie, and marketing junkie)
