Default Finding angel investors....

I know that many angel investors do join up to form loose networks, which makes it easier to contact many of them. Here are a couple places you can find a variety of links to these kinds of networks:

The Open Directory's list of links

and also

Yahoo's list of links

I don't have personal experience myself with angel investors, but I do have a good friend who raised several million dollars in seed capital for her company during the days of the dot-com boom. (Unfortunately, her company is one of those which went bust....)

By the way, for those who may not know, a venture capitalist is essentially a COMPANY which invests, whereas angel investors are wealthy INDIVIDUALS who invest in start-ups.

I've been told that it's usually much easier to get funding from angel investors than from VCs, for those who may be looking for funding for themselves. By getting funding from a variety of angel investors, you can potentially raise a few million dollars in "seed capital" for your business venture - as long as you can convince them that it's a "good bet" for them!
