Keep in Mind... There are "Tons" of Niches... And all the little NICHES out there, and sub niches and sub sub sub, well, you get the pic.  What Most People Miss out on is the idea of Focusing on Particular Niche "Groups" of people and businesses. Social Network marketing is Huge and Untapped, especially in Affiliate marketing.  Athough, it's important to 1st Learn the Basics...
