I'm pretty sure most people would agree that having Multiple Streams of Income is better than income from a single source. After all, if you only have one source of income and something happens to it, you are in trouble. Whereas, if you have more than one source of income and something happens to one of the sources, you are still okay because you still have money coming in.

Simple concept, right?

Maybe that's part of what makes becoming an entrepreneur hard for some people...

They grow up in a society raised on a foundation of single-source-income. Yet, being an entrepreneur means having more than one source of income - your customers, various businesses, etc.

IF we learn by doing things on a smaller scale before moving onto doing the same thing on a larger scale, then doesn't it make sense to first get yourself more than one source of income?

Sure it does. And even Kiyosaki advises to start a small part-time business.

But that is putting the cart before the horse. We have to learn to have more than one source of income before we learn how to do it with a business. We need small steps.

To achieve this... without a business... means getting two jobs - two jobs equals two sources of income. But, not two full-time jobs, or one full-time and one part-time... that would have you working too many hours. Get two part-time jobs instead.

Not only will it give you the full-time income and more than one source of income, it will give you variety. By spending half as much time in each place as you would in a full-time situation, your stress level should come down, and time should appear to go faster. And before you know it, each four hour part-time job will have finished.

Once you have two sources of income established, it's time to begin your business.

But what of the part-time jobs?

You do not have to give them up, if you don't want to. You merely have to juggle your income sources around so they allow you the time to start your business.

As most business is conducted during daylight hours, you need to have daylight hours somewhat free. And to do that, one or both of your part-time jobs should be a night/evening job. Either janitorial work or process work in a factory (before you think lowly of process workers, I know some who make $50,000 a year while their supervising manager makes $30,000!).

Doing the night work will allow you the free time during the day to conduct your business.

If you want to add to this mix of part-time job(s) and business, you can do some casual work...

Contact your nearest major sporting arena and ask them WHO does the venue cleaning after the game. Then contact the venue cleaning company and tell them you WANT TO WORK.

The work will probably be in the evening after the game has finished or early in the morning (the next morning). And will probably entail picking up discarded drink containers, food containers, straws, etc., etc. Not glamorous. Not fancy. And beneath many people. But hey, it's a part of your Multiple Streams of Income.

At this point you are now a Jack of All Trades. Your friends and relatives will think you are nuts... like a Gypsie almost... and urge you to stop this silly nonesense and get one job. But by now you will not be able to have just one job. You will feel good about your income - even if it is not huge - because it is coming from more than one place and that means Security. You won't be stressed by those doing the urging because nothing they say will matter - and you will wonder how they can think such silly thoughts.

So you will have the security of more than one source of income as well as the comfort from your small business venture. This all adds up to give you a taste of financial independence - supporting yourself and not relying on any one person or job. Even if your business is not making huge wads of cash it doesn't matter. The fact it is there and is another stream of income is what is important.

• Make one or both of those income sources, before or after hours so you have normal business hours available to you
• Begin your business
• As business grows, drop one of the part-time jobs and let the business take up the slack - or - get a casual job cleaning venues after the game.
• As business grows, drop either the other part-time job or the casual job.
• Continue until the business with its many little income sources (customers) can support you.
• Grow it.
• Invest the excess money
