Dien, I believe you inadvertently reversed the quote. I was under the impression that it was "Don't sell the steak, sell the sizzle". The quote has been used a lot in sales and copy writing to get folks away from the 'this then that' about the product instead of appealing to the emotional triggers that get people to buy.
Jeepers, you're right Sandi - in my writing haste I got it round the wrong way... Oops!
